Looks good, not great. And since you aimed my attention towards the water, i'd have to say i felt that when the submarine thingy went under water it didnt look impressive at all.

| Steroid said: They look impressive but I need to see some real in-game footage before I hand it any kind of crown. And the difference between the 360 and PS3 version of RE5 has really been overblown. If you have some machine hooked up that counts the framerates you might notice a difference. |
You know most of the trailer in OP was actually gameplay? Like 3rd person gameplay. Anyway, I agree with your post about RE5. It is negligable to the human eye.
| selnor said: Are people here insane? It's not like I woke decided I know I'll pick some 360 exclusives put them up on VGChartz and say 360 graphics FTW. They are bloody Multiplatform games. My disgust at the FF franchise is not something new and you should no this. Both FF13 and EOE ( or ROF ) are 3rd party and for both systems. LP2 is 3rd party and for both systems. Seriously I think some PS3 fans need to evaluate what they are squabbling over. Yes I put my opinion on the OP. But I did not throw it out there to purposely pi** off Ps3 fans. I think that is easily seeable from the OP words. Do well to read these to forums, which are actually far more balanced than VGChartz. Even fanboys of both sides respect multiplats superior graphics when it happens. Like I said VGChartz is in a bubble. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-lost-planet/50619#comments_top http://gamersyde.com/news_7957_en.html

I don't like ad hominem attacks from any side, but of course I've told you several times that I think that you're too prone to hyperbole :)
Anyway, regarding your links, I don't think that they will be very poignant. After all, you're likely exchanging a prevalent opinion greatly based on console affiliation demographic for another.
But I can remind you that Uncharted 2 has been praised as best graphics of E3 - or even best graphics of any console game - by numerous critics.
A quite unbiased source such as Digital Foundry (nowadays hosted by Eurogamer) still regards KZ2 and Uncharted 1 as the current top dogs when it comes to visual prowess on consoles and ran in-depth series on them. They also made an annotated version of the Uncharted 2 trailer to point out its many wonderful details of animation, lighting, HDR, motion blur, and the many improvements over the first one.
On technical forums such as beyond3d there were discussions abouth the presentations made by Guerrilla about the KZ2 engine and its deferred rendering techniques for lighting and post effects.
This is not to say that technical discussion should dictate what you find more beautiful or impressive. Just that if you want to look for different and unbiased opinions, there's other ways than choosing an audience that more closely mirrors your personal stance. Then in the end the only important opinion will be yours.
It's a Killzone 2 look alike, without the particle effects....
Don't get me wrong, I'll pick up the game for sure, I liked the first one.
^ Werewolf: Grandmaster is really good with the technology and he has helped create technology that enables him to measure the framerate of games and create lossless video. However he isn't perfect and some of his opinions are contested so whilst the videos/pictures he creates are the real deal his opinions, whilst informed and fair aren't definative. There are better people on that site for analysing the results of those lossless videos/pictures than him. I just wanted to make that distinction.
Tease.

It's not choosing an audience that mirrors my stance. I would never choose a tech place for a discussion on what looks prettier. Give 2 people 2 chocolate bars. One is a Mars bar and the other is a normal brand bar, but just like a Mars bar. If you dont tell him which is which, that person will likely choose either. This brings me to why I and many others can say what looks more impressive without knowing that KZ2 has 1 more polygon on the right shoe of the characters than say RE5 does.
You can go anywhere not just those 2 sites. Gamepsot, IGN, Youtube. Even the media. E3 awards I think Uncharted 2 only won 2 awards for graphics? IGN and 1 other. All I'm saying is people attacked in this thread for no reason. And I cant believe that PS3 fans get this way over a multiplatform title. As a 360 fan I'm chuffed it looks great and with 4 player split screen coop. Something which good looking PS3 exclusives lack is 4 player splitscreen coop. Even Uncharted 2 only has 2 player coop. IS it splitscreen or over netwrok?
I'm sure games like LP2 would look even better again if the engine could soley concentrate on just single screen. And not have to accomodate split screen smoothly.
There is no reall point anymore on VGChartz speaking outside of your console of choice groups.
@ selnor, I'm not just talking about graphics, but you just exaggerate everything. And those forums just seemed to be filled with people talking crap, nobody in that thread said anything about the car being the greatest looking thing ever or better than Uncharted 2
I watched it and it looks good. I'd put it between Gears 2 and KZ2. KZ2 and Uncharted 2look a lil bit better.

You mix exagerate with enthusiasum. Maybe some people have lost their love for games, but I see nothing wrong with getting excited for something I love.
As for those forums, they perfectly show my point. Here it's PS3 fan says " looks ok, water looks crap. detail is average, and the effects are ok."
Other forums you have regualr comments like. " Wheres my jaw gone, anyone seen my jaw? "
" Absolutely stunning "
" I'll put my dick away now, I'm finished "
And these comments come from PS3 fans also. You still get the odd idiot posting something like. PS3 looks better. Or something.
But it shows that for some reason PS3 fans on VGChartz just cant accept anything other than exclusives. Whereas the average PS3 fan can.

Lost Planet 2 isn't even nominated.
