Boom Blox. The first game cost way too much. It's price was my sanity.

Suikoden II. III and IV are garbage apparently.

Super Mario World. Mainly because Yoshi's Island is more of a game in its own right than a sequel.

Starcraft. First one is the best RTS game I've ever played and the sequel looks like a graphic update with the II on the end.

Hahaha. Either you never got very good at Starcraft, or you know nothing about the sequel, or, probably, both.

Super Mario Galaxy. At the risk of getting a tomahawk thrown at me, I think the game was too significant, magical, and iconic to be followed up with a sequel. I would rather have seen a whole new Mario game, set in a new location and with completely different things to do.

Wait for the game to come out first.  Everything I've read about it makes it seem better than the first one.  And the sequel will not hurt the image of the first one if it doesn't live up to the legend.  Look at Super Maio World and Yoshi's Island.  SMW is still near the top of the list for 2D platformers.

What are you saying?  Yoshi's Island was an amazing game.

I don't think he said it was a bad game, but he did say that Yoshi's Island didn't hurt Super Mario World's image even if it wasn't as good as SMW. I think anyone can agree with that (or at least the novelty factor).

Look at the VC charts.  Clearly people love SMW.

Anyway, just to say it again, Montana couldn't be any more wrong.

Oh my god, did nobody read? How many mainline Mario games (Super Mario 64, Sunshine, etc.) have had direct sequels only a couple of years later? And how many of them were good? You couldn't be any worse at comprehension.

Eh?  At least I'm not wrong :)

It's going to take alot more than new units and a graphic overhaul to sell me the sequel of an immensely polished and replayable game.

Pixel Art can be fun.

^^ Surprised you like Diamond/Pearl so much then. Because New units/Graphic overall can pretty much some up one Pokemon games changes to the next.

What makes you think that Starcraft II won't be as polished and replayable as the original? Also, it's worth mentionning that Starcraft wasn't perfectly balanced right out the box, it took several patches to get there.

Signature goes here!

3 really easy ones that should never have spawned more than 1 game:

Rockband
Guitar hero
Madden

Most movie sequel game ports

It has evolved.  Going back to Blue after Platinum is like eating 5 month old bread while trying to ride a unicycle and juggling chainsaws up Mount. Everest.

In short, enjoy new bread.. stop remenscencing over old bread.

Also, Starcraft's like a wine.  Gets better with age.

Pixel Art can be fun.
