I have the Guitar Hero drumset and recently whenever the drumset is power on it is always assigned to channel 7 and the GH games cannot recognize it and I need to assign it to channel 1 manually.

I don't know whether it is because I updated the FW 2.80.  Besides the firmware update, I cannot guess any other possible reason.

Can anyone confirm this?

Its funny you mention that, my Rock Band 2 drums did the same thing but they automatically switched to #2 once the game started. So maybe it is a combination of GH and FW 2.8

Oh! Then it is the problem of FW2.80! Why it sets the drumset/guitar to channel 7? I think it is not the responsibility for GH to reassign the channel.

Anyway knows where can I report this issue to?

yea 2.8 made the sixaxis / dualshock channel no 1

You can goto the Official Playstation website and I think you can report problems under the support section

idk when i powered on with the controller and the drum or guitar attachment was plugged in i always had to manually reassign my controller, i think its kinda nice

No, that has always defaulted to be at 7.  Mine corrected themselves once i started the games, i dont know why his didnt either.

The only problem with FW 2.80 was it was small and not what people wanted.

Before 2.80, the PS3 remote control will be assigned to channel 7. Other devices are assigned to next available channel starting from 1.

However, after 2.80, only Sixaxis controllers will be assigned to next available channel starting from 1. All other devices (including drums, guitar) will be assigned to channel 7 and the device that is previously assigned to channel 7 is changed to channel 6 automatically.

So the problem is, GH will search for guitar/drums starting from channel 1 and when it found no device on a particular channel it stop searching.

So is it the problem of FW2.80 or problem of GH? I think it is the problem of FW2.80.
