Umm, Microsoft asked me for a receipt even though I had registered the system. I don't know if they needed the receipt but she wanted me to find it and find my date of purchase on it.

Lies...
MS don't ask for receipts - EVER.
You're friend is a liar, don't care if you believe him. More fool you!
He hasn't even tried and is just making shit up cos he can't be bothered and needs the money lol.

If you'd have said you don't know it she'd have been fine with it. Microsoft only need the serial number on the console.
I didn't get the same console back when i sent mine in
Only needed the serial number when I called in.
Are you guys serious? I thought we already got to the bottom of why they asked for his receipt. He called before the E-74 error was added into the 3 year warranty. Anyways, I made this thread for advice if I should go through with it or not yet everybody talked about how my friend is lying. Nice.
i would just wait till the price drop and get a new one. buying old broken stuff doesn't appeal to me personally.

He told me that his xbox 360 is a Halo 3 edition so obviously it came out in late 2007 so it should still be covered by the 3 year warranty correct? I told him that I could get it fixed and he is offering to sell it to me for 60 dollars with a wireless control. Should I do it? Would MS still repair it for free because its a Halo 3 edition Xbox (I guess he forgot to mention that to the Customer Support person) ?
Bonus: If MS does offer to repair it, would they send me back another Halo 3 edition Xbox 360 or would it be a regular Pro? I rather not have a dark green xbox if I had a choice. |
Just put the console playing a movie wraped in some towels, it will ROD in no time. Then call to Microsoft: "My 360 is RoD'd"
Case solved...

That was after I gave her the serial number that she asked.
