If if if if .....I am not really a fan of those if questions.

What if Sega and Sony worked together? What if Bill gates has spend his weekly loan to buy Sega etc etc...

Oh how I wish Sony and Sega worked together exclusively with each other. Awesome.....

Shoulda, woulda, coulda. It was always Sega's piss poor decision making that cost them so much, so if it wasn't this, they would have figured some other way to screw themselves over.

Saturn was a good investment at 299 in 1995. Lots of great games...

I guess we can blame japan for the fall of sega. Than again its sega's fault not wanting a price cut. I wonder what will happen if the sega saturn beated the playstation how life would be like today

(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)

You mean what would have happned had the saturn beat the PS.  And english is my second language.

It wouldnt have beat it either way, FF7 was still coming only for PS and GT would have crushed it in Europe with America following the ww trend of choosing PS over the saturn.

Now we only need a time machine to travel back to 1995 and tell Sega the news

You could use Teh C3LL to time travel, but then if PS1 died there would be no C3LL and you would create a time paradox :P

Teh C3LL is from IBM....So you have to kill the IBM guys...Not Sony

So why didn't they do so? Why did they keep the price as high as $299 for so long? One possible reason could have been that the Saturn was moving so well in Japan, where it is the undisputed market leader, Sega of Japan wanted to keep the prices high there. By keeping prices higher in Japan, there was no way that they could implement a price cut in the US, as it would constitute "dumping" for selling a foreign product substantially cheaper than it is selling in its country of origin.

Thank goodness for the US federal government and their anti-dumping laws.  Without the Feds high regulation of the videogame market, things might have turned out a little different.  This is another example of a bad government policy having unintended consequences which potentially hurt millions of people.

RE did come out...But since Sony don't "Moneyhat" People don't remember it being a timed exclusive.....

And yes those other game you mentioned became what the Generation was....But do I hafta pull the massive Saturn japan Exclusive list?

Or should I do one of these...
