shit...im tempted to just order this now, but ill wait till a official change list

I say order it now.  You'll probably get it by the time I get my ps3 back.  Then we can journey through the game from start to finish together.  ^_^

alright...youve done it for the 2nd time music...link me to a site that sells it

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-bp-49-en-15-demon%27s+souls-70-36pw.html

I would say go with NCSX, but they won't be restocked for two weeks.  That negates their advantage in shipping time.

If you do decide to order the game, I'll PM you a $5 off coupon I have.

The incredible thing about this game is how many options it gives you to survive -- life potions, rolling gets you out of the way of almost any attack, backstepping, blocking, parrying, and counter attacking... so that you can start to feel powerful, almost invincible, and then suddenly you get a little cocky or find yourself in a new situation and you realize how fragile you are all over again. One mistake, sometimes one-and-a-half, and you're dead.

This game looks more interesting everytime I watch another video. Between this and Brutal Legend it seems my October is going to be awesome. I'm curious to see how it does review wise when it gets here and not just as import reviews.

This.

So many times I've gone into a new area thinking, "I just destroyed that last boss - this will be easy as pie," only to die a minute later when somebody jumps out from behind a door or something and cuts me down.

I CANT WAIT TO GET KILLED OVER 100 TIMES!!!...hopefullyy theres some brutal character deaths

Xain: JRPG, as a genre, refers to a certain style of game. It doesn't refer, for example, to the fact that mostly Japanese people worked on the game, or that the game was programmed on computers running somewhere in Japan. Because of this, anyone in the world could set out to make a JRPG, as long as they follow the conventions of the genre accurately enough. Of course, the style does come from Japan and Japanese culture, so the vast majority of JRPGs will naturally be made by teams of japanese developers.

That's my best shot at describing it.

ok..so do you suggest we categorize it as...since JRPG isnt enough

I'd call it a WRPG or Hack and Slash, with Japanese gameplay elements (not necessarily JRPG elements, just weird things about it which feel more japanese-style) and a totally unique aesthetic style which also feels somehow Japanese.

The gameworld is weird...  In a way it's very western D&D, but there are no dwarves, orcs, or elves, and there's a huge emphasis on realistic armor, the way it weighs you down or tires you out, and physical combat.  It's kind of a Japanese take on a fuedal western world with demons, magic, and dragons running rampant.

^ so a JRPG with western influences...how about JRPWWI????

The footage on GT is much better. They show off a few more locales, as well. Plus they show people jumping off cliffs to their deaths. I guarantee you 60+% of the bloodstains you touch will be dumasses falling to their deaths.

wow every time i see this game i get impressed.. looks like it's a awesome gameplay experience.

No, it's definitely a WRPG with Japanese elements... emphasis on WRPG. The only problem is, I can't think of what WRPG has ever done Demon's Souls style gameplay nearly as well. The Gothic games, or Ultima IX are similar in terms of combat, if I remember correctly...

The game is easy to classify.. based on what i know it's a MMO RPG. Basicly.
