Actually, until MS allow players to connect real wheels like logitech G25, you can't even start debating which is the most realistic, since GT has no competitor. Playing forza on pad just doesn't make it. The new 'rewind' feature will go on giving Forza a more arcade feel too.

On the graphics side anyway, I think only the most hardcore MS fanboys can deny GT5P (a 2 year old game) already looks better than Forza 3... The cars on the Forza 3 trailer just look too 'plastic' to be real. Much more work was made on GT5 lighting.

Forza is still the poor man's GT right now, but it could change in the future.

Wow i've never seen so much wrong in my life!  Every single point in this post was wrong...

I know there has been a ton of threads about this game and how it looks forza is better gran turismo and vice versa, bla bla i don't know for sure which is better but the gran turismo 5 trailer on my sony kdl-40xbr4 looked incredible.  I just downloaded the forza e3 video and they didn't even come close.  Gran turismo beat by far hands down.  If you think im crazy and you have both systems go and download both of them and then tell me im crazy.  I think the reason why gran turismo is so much better is because polyphony digital is awesome and also it is in native 1080p with 60fps and the xbox just upscales everything to 1080p no matter if its halo barley over pal native resolution of and old black and white movie.  The source doesn't have to be good it just makes everything 1080p.  Let me know if you think im crazy but those videos off of the each companies online store.

The trailer was a mix of CGI and ingame but heavily edited.

@john : care to explain ?

Can you connect a logitech G25 on 360 ? I think you can't, you're restricted to the (poor) MS wheel if I remember correctly. You can on PS3 and it's handled by GT5P.

Well you have the MS wheel which is very good for its price, and really why pay $150 more for a product thats hardly 10% better?  And if you truly do want a wheel thats marginally better but way more expensive then you can buy the official Forza 3 limited edition wheel that costs an insane amount.

The rewind thing is not gonna make Forza 3 more arcady because you don't have to use it.  is anyone forcing you to use the rewind button? no? thats what i thought...to add to that the racing sim fan guys (from the video up above) said in their E3 report that Forza 3 is as realistic as PC racing sims (which are quite a bit better than GT)  Hell even Forza 2 beats GT5:P in realism.

Forza 3 graphics from what we have seen are definatly a step up from GT5:P's (but there's no doubt GT5 will readily beat Forza 3's graphics when it comes out)

And Forza  is not the poor mans GT because they are both just as good as each other...

I disagree about the wheel... Every serious racer fan I know uses Logitech GT25.

For the rewind, I hope you can disable that option, it don't want to feel like I'm playing Grid...

On the graphics, the environments look better on Forza 3 than on GT5P, but the cars in my opinion definitely look more realistic on GT5P. The lighting is what makes me feel like that...

Mitsubishi has used Gran Turismo as a tool for testing their real life vehicles....Forza has been used for what again?

lol, that proves nothing, GT is the bigger franchise with more money behind it, Forza is just a rising star.

GTs gaming franchise strength means Fuk all to Toyota or BMW.

But they did sent out GT demo disks with their cars as previews, they trust GTs physics well nuf to use it to show case their cars.  So Auto manafactuers trust GTs physics over anyhtign else bud, do you get that ?

trust the physics? How does that come into it at all? If GT's physics were way off, but the game showed their cars hugging the road and taking 150mph turns that the real cars could never make - whereas Forza's more realistic physics had the car sliding off the road and crashing at those speeds - which do you think they'd use?

And the franchise strength DOES matter. They'd want thier  cars associated to a franchise people love. It's not surprising that it's a japanese and British company that used GT, since it's biggest in Japan and Europe.

Yeah, here in Europe, all people know is GT... Forza is not very well known at all compared to GT...

hardly 10% better? sounds like you've never used the G25. The H-shift and clutch alone is 100% better plus the 900' turn, higher quality foot pedals, leather wheel. MS wheel is only good for games like GRID, Burnout, NFS. Not for sims that mainly focus on production cars.

Forza is stuck with the MS wheel or you can pay $100 more than a G25 for a better but not by much Fanatec wheel. And good luck getting one before Sept.

Forza 2 beats GT5P in realism?

Let's look at the Nurburgring for Forza 2.

For the same corner on Nurburgring, you can see how wrong was Forza 2. The track is twice as wider than real life.

Hey, can you show me how you hug the road and take a 150mph corner? That would seriously improve my lap time.

I would love to see how you take the Suzuka hairpin @ 150mph.

Thats funny this thread turned into phsyics when it was started it was graphic realism.
