Man, you see, the reason I prefer the PS3 is because I hate Western RPGs and absolutely love SRPGs.

That reminds me, I need to go play Devil Survivor on the DS.

Upcoming "good" Exclusive RPGs:

XBOX 360

-Mass Effect 2

PS3

-White Knight Chronicles
-Demon's Souls
-Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Clearly PS3's upcoming RPGs outwiegh those in the 360's camp. I chose to leave out titles like Magna Carta 2 and Atelier Rorona because they aren't very good and only hardcore JRPG fans will play them.

I do think 360 won this generation with the rpgs. Even though I don't have a PS3, I'm perfectly happy right now with the rpgs provided. Overall, I do think 360 has the best diversity among the consoles, which puts it #1 in my opinion.



Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

Though I think adding the SRPG is a little defensive.

OT:The 360 easily has the best RPG this generation since  it does have a good variety of both WRPG and JRPG. 2nd could be clost between PS3/Wii since PS3 has WRPG but barley any JRPG and Wii has JRPG but no WRPG. Bethesda game is in the works though.

Anyways its hard to argue otherwise. Yes 360 has the best lineup for RPG....lucky bastards.

Then along comes 360 with Lost Odyssey and Mass Effect. I really can't see it as a competition. I mean, 360 also has Fable 2, Blue Dragon, Star Ocean 4... And these are just the exclusives. Add to that the HD multiplats like Fallout 3 and (eventually) FF13. I think you're deluding yourself if you're saying that the 360 isn't winning in the RPG department so far.


The Wii isn't in the war because the system isn't targeting the hardcore, but I agree with everything else.

I am not trolling. Read the article. The Wii doesn't have a main RPG franchise that is even on the level of the heavy hitting RPG franchises geared towards the hardcore like on the PS3 and 360. By the time Mass Effect 2 and Final Fantasy XIII come out, it will show exactly why the hardcore RPG franchises are anywhere but the Wii.

I'm so glad that I bought the 360 because I'm such a RPG lover. Who would thought that the Xbox 360 will have more RPGs then the PS3 and the PS3 have more shooters then the 360.

Magna Carta 2 will also be on the 360's line up.

Don't include Magna Carta II, because it might not be good... sure...
How do you know the other games will be good? Demon Souls, made by From Software, is now a great title? Damn people talked about Ninja Blade not being good, because of the developer From Software. But the PS3 will be good, despite pretty low sales in Japan.

FF versus will be released end of 2010 at the earliest.

And we still need to see how White Knight Chronicles will be. The Japanese people did no go crazy about this one. I am not saying, it will be a bad game. But it is just stupid to say Magna Carta II will be bad and this one will be good, because you would like to have it like that.

And let's wait what Mistwalker is working on right now. There will be some new RPGs coming to both, Xbox360 and PS3.

Some people have imported Demon's Souls and the response is very positive. It's got an 87 average on Metacritic too.

I do think WKC looks bad, though.
