Forums - Gaming - Apple iPhone Gets Wii-like Motion Controls

Source: http://www.split-screen.com/2009/06/25/apple-iphone-gets-wii-like-motion-controls/

The bandwagon is officially filled. Apple recently released the version 2.40 update to AppleTV, and in conjunction with the iPhone Remote application, lets you wave your iPhone around like a motion controller. Audio or video playback are controlled by flicking left or right to rewind or fast forward, respectively. You can show chapter markers when watching video by flicking down and then flicking left or right to skip. You can also tap the screen to play/pause either video or audio. Note that the iPhone (or even iPod Touch) must be running with Remote 1.3 on iPhone OS 3.0.

AppleTV with iPhone for video and audio playbacks? What's wrong with the regular remote?

As fragile as IPhone's are.. why would anyone wave one around like a Wii Remote.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Motions are more intuitive than a button layout. People speak with there hands. People write with buttons.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Huuu... dunno, seems incredibly unintuitive and awkward to me... I mean, I wouldn't wanna wave my tv remote around everytime I wanna switch a channel, adjust the volume or whatever... :s
