Forums - Gaming - What percentage of the game you buy/rent do you finish?

Hey everybody, I was thinking earlier today about gaming, and realized that I buy a massive amount of games I never finish. This got me to thinking- is this common, or am I just a freak. Well I posit to you, my fellow gamers of all stripe-

What percentage of the games you rent/buy (specify) do you actually finish?

Also, how much do you generally pay for games when you do buy them?

I'll start us off:

Buy-  (30% finished)

Rent- (75% finished)

On average, across new and used I spend about $30 each. Lots of new, lots of used.

I would say i finish about 65% of games i own. I usually buy new but either shop around for bargains or wait until they go down in price. I would say on average i pay around £25-30 for games.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I'd say I finish about 75% of the games I buy.

And for rentals, I'd say around 90%.

rent=about 10 percent (i dont rent games that often, nor do i keep them that long).

buy=about 75-80%.

I don't rent games, but I beat around 10% of the games I buy. After realizing just how bad my completion rate was, I've made a major push to beat several games. In the past month or two, I've beaten nearly as many games as I did in the 10 years prior. (Finished God of War I & II, Twin Snakes, Metroid Zero Mission & Fusion, Mario Galaxy, FFIV and some others.)

Last year my completion rate was 30% or less. I had this really annoying habit of not wanting to finish a game because I'd be sad that it ended :p now that i'm past that stage, my completion rate is at about 85%. Some games just suck too much to finish

Yup. I bought my 360 for Tales of Vesperia, and I haven't been able to bring myself to finish it, almost a year later. It took me almost a year to beat FFIV DS, and I only actually completed it because the sequel for WiiWare.

Probably the craziest has to be my favorite game of all time, FFVI. I've been playing that game for about 10 years now, unable to bring myself to beat it. My most recent save file I started in April 2007, on the GBA version. I've been playing that save very, very, very slowly, and am partway through the WoR.

Someday, I may actually beat FFVI, but after almost 10 years, one starts to wonder.

There are a few other games, mostly RPGs, that I've taken years to beat. Can't think of which ones, off the top of my head, though.
