Guys I have posted another thread with more details regarding the PS3 slim.

Don't you be coming in here with that. I have the original source so i guess if people are too lazy to look up all the things the guy said they could go to yours. But i was hear first.

The guy who said these things says he is more involved with the hardware than the firmware. He also said tomorrow he will talk about it more.

I don't know. He did know that the Firmware 2.8 would come out Wednesday. He even said that 2.8 wouldn't be big, which it isn't. I could see the slim not having an on off switch in the back. Maybe it will have an external powersource to make it slimer so that may be why.

Yes, that would definitely make it slimer.

After reading some more of the things he said, i think he will change his name from Super_Secret by creating a new account. I think one of the mods found out it was a duplicate account so he was going to ban him but he couldn't i guess. So i guess i'll look out for more info from whatever he turns into next lol and i'll post it here.

I honestly cannot think of a single thing that Sony would gain by removing the ability to install another OS.

Maybe they are removing the thing that allows OS's to be placed on the PS3. I don't know i don't quite understand it so i may be talking out of my as.. head  lol

The thing that allows another OS to be installed on the PS3 is built into the firmware. I don't understand exactly why they would remove it, it wouldn't save them any money.

The only thing I can think of, is future attempts at hacking the PS3.

I want to know what parts of the PS3 are "required" for the other OS feature as rafichamp says in the other thread that was just locked.
