Well, at least I can bump with a score update.

It's:

LSU - 4

Texas - 2

Bottom of the 5th inning!

Well, since this thread appears to be going rather slowly, I'll ask a question - in college baseball do they use metal bats? I remember watching a non-pro league game and they were using metal bats.

They use aluminum bats. So yes it's easier to hit a home run, but they're just college kids. They aren't juicing and haven't had too much dedicated weight time.

How far away (typically) are the fences?

The power alleys are usually 395-405. Sidelines is usually 365.

You also must consider that the pitchers are throwing the ball as fast. Most can't get up to 95.

Oh, that's a lot further away than I thought they'd be. Pretty much the size of MLB fields. I guess I understand the use of aluminum bats then.

These players are around 20?

I don't watch college baseball because Hanley Ramirez is not a part of it.

At oldest. LSU has two 19 year olds and one 18 year old starting.

Most end up leaving by the end time they hit 21 or 22 (whether by graduation or MLB draft)
