Mmorpg is a type of game Im sure alot of us enjoy.  This site claims to be the most Comprehensive so why not add a chart for mmos. Maybe update it once and month and create a new forum. A place to talk about upcoming betas etc. (Darkfall Looks good!)

Unfortunately tracking the sales statistics, and more importantly retention statistics are all but impossible. There seems to be no relevant data to draw upon, and further the system thwarts any attempt to do so. Most MMORPG developers actively hide their numbers, and many of them sell their games only through downloads. So there can be no statistical analysis you can only go off of in game observation to calculate sales, or retention. Even then free trials are their to thwart any attempt at a fair analysis.

The MMORPG audience is also very sectarian. Once a player joins a game they usually only focus on said game, and are less then interested in discussing others. Further more they then usually migrate to specific forums for that community to get the best experience. A Warcraft player is not likely to know the ins or outs of Eve online. So its best to join a dedicated website or make use of official forums.

When you think of it in the strictest sense a MMORPG is more similar to a console then a stand alone game. You buy into the product, and then you continue to support it by renewing your subscription or buying expansions. That only work with that specific game.

Regardless tracking it would be pointless specifically due to the nature of the beast, and generally due to corporate concealment. Further more only players between games will be very interested in discussing the field. So not only would there be no purpose, but it would not get used extensively. I recommend you look towards a dedicated MMORPG site for that kind of discussion. They are far more established.

WoW > rest imo. wrath of the lich king is gonna blow all away (that's why ive started playing again).
