Forums - Gaming - Final Fantasy 13 vs Tales of Graces

With the exception of Vesperia, I haven't found a Tales game that I can even tolerate, including Symphonia, Radiant Mythology and Eternia. **I do, however, own both Legendia and Abyss and am looking to start them soon. Normally, I wouldn't have bothered after having tried three times already, but after Vesperia, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt

For me, the answer is likely to be FFXIII. As much as I loved Vesperia, I still prefer the vast majority of Final Fantasy games to it.

Even FF12?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to the arithmetic I was taught in elementary school 8.5 > 8.2 and 9.5 is definitely > than 8.2.

aren't we talking about Graces right now since FF13 and Graces are both not out yet? I personally think Graces has pretty good potential and FF13 looks pretty solid besides that stupid grass part(god damn it, I want grass!)

List of Highest Rated Tales Games from IGN

Tales of Destiny II -- 8.5 PS1
Tales of Symphonia -- 8.5 Gamecube
Tales of the Abyss -- 8.3 PS2
Tales of Vesperia -- 8.2 360
Tales of Legendia -- 7.7 PS2

List of Highest Rated Final Fantasies from IGN

Final Fantasy VII -- 9.5 -- PS1
Final Fantasy X -- 9.5 -- PS2
Final Fantasy X-2 -- 9.5 -- PS2
Final Fantasy XII -- 9.5 -- PS2
Final Fantasy IX -- 9.2 -- PS1

So, one can see that to even begin to compete Tales of Graces will have to better than the best Tales games Symphonia and Destiny II, but I still think if it manages to do that Graces will only wind up being a 9.0 at best. On the other hand, I think the PS3 version of FFXIII will be the first 10 game at IGN since GTA IV and MGS 4, so I defintely give the nod to FFXIII.

Made of win.

@Shaodw- Lulz, well honestly i liked Legendias Anime Style it was charming imo, Vesperias looks like ... pokemon-ish but if the ps3 version is good (looks like it might be) then i'll try to get over it.

@g- no...just no... Lean more towards Code Geass and/or Black Cat and you have the winners. :D

@Xen- Jeez, im being barraged over anime styles? :P sweet.

Even FF12?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed 12, especially on a second playthrough. I didn't enjoy it as much as my favourite FF's, but nonetheless, it was a fantastic game.

Was it better than ToV? I think so. Much better? No.

I........i can't...believe....what i'm reading.

don't forget western reviewers prefer more realistic graphics over anime style though, sometimes scores differ just because of that, those scores could have easily went up .5 or more if those people don't mind the anime style as much. /shrug
