You should get this driving wheel with force feedback, it's pretty awesome.

yeah, you could get the wheel for a hundred bucks without a game, or just play some mario kart. not as realistic, but twice as fun

Whenever I buy a new system I like to stop at the used stores (like EB games or Gamestop) or ebay and pick up a few games that I may have missed out on.

Here are my suggestions
Find the used 2 pack game Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I picked it up for $10 a few months ago. Forza is a good driving sim, and me and my 5 year old play Ultimate Alliance all the time.
Other games my 5 year old loves are all the Lego games like Lego Batman and Lego Star Wars Complete Saga. You can probably find the used 2 pack of Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda which are 2 other games he likes as well on the cheap now as well.

Other decent older driving games that your wife may enjoy are Dirt and Sega Rally.

For you I highly recommend picking up Bioshock it may be classified as a shooter but is really story driven. Also try out Gears Of War (part 1) I did not like shooters at all until I bought this game it really is amazing. Also give Mass Effect a try.

Dont forget LIPS its amazing!!!! Great for a family!!

If u ever have a party it will be the most played game i love it!

Your wife will think its amazing 2!

Banjo kazooie is a great family game and its also quite skilled!

Enjoy! It really is the best console ever! U need to be online though! U cant say u have a 360 unless ur a live member!

Welcome aboard the Xbox boat of love!

Enjoy your stay.

Be good to the boat and it will be good to you!

I know you said you didn't care for FPS, but COD: Modern Warfare is "that good".  I think it is the best FPS so far this gen.

Viva Pinata

Dead Rising ( I love this game even thought its older than dirt and still play it on occasion, its very cheap if you buy used).y

Forza 2, or If you don't have the spare money just wait for Forza 3.

Gears 1/2

Uno

*******EDIT*******

If you have internet access that is close to the 360, sign up for a free gold membership.  It is soooo much more fun gaming online.  And you can look around for cheap deals for the live service, 29.99 to 39.99 (easily).  If you have a netflix account its even more worth the investment.

LOL... I remember that epic PR stunt... The 360 parisian "bateau mouche" passing again and again in front of the PS3 deserted launch stand

That was a golden idea if you ask me.  I remember getting a few laughs out of it at the time.

I didn't know it had an impact abroad... Wow, golden idea indeed.

It didn't have an impact abroad.  Golden in how funny it was.

The question is: Do you have a PS3? if you don't have one i can recommend some multiplatform titles...

According to your preferences:

RPGs: Mass Effect, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon (the last two i recomeend you play one of them rented, then if you like it, buy it, and if you don't, buy the other one (i know only a few people that like both BD and LO, it's easier finding people that like one of them)...

TPS: Gears of War, Gears of War 2

FPS: Without online, i can't recommend you Left4Dead and Halo 3, of course, split screen multiplayer is great also...

Racing: Forza 2 (3 is coming so she can wait for that or have both)

For your son: Viva Piñata, Banjo Kazooie.

Later i tell you about the multiplatform if you don't have a PS3...

Thanks and... no, I don't have a PS3

Ok, then i can recommend:

TPS: Resident Evil 5 (it's more a TPS than a survival-horror action game, but you like both so you're covered either way)

FPS:

-Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (seriously, it's that good, Activision had to separate this title from the CoD Franchise and made it a completely separated franchise, Modern Warfare 2 comes out this fall)
-The Orange Box, its a pack with Half-Life 2 original + Episode 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal (I got it thinking in Half-Life Episode 2 because i played the original and Ep 1 already, but the game that got to me was Portal, its an amazing first-person action/puzzle, look at the previews on Youtube, it's really good)
-Bioshock: Really, the game has a cool storyline, a great experience and if you're into graphics look at the water in this game...

RPGs:

-The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Bethesda Softworks is a long time RPG developer, their games started on PC, and they added consoles when they became powerful and profitable enough, and this is a great example of their amazing work)
-Fallout 3 (The previous main titles you're going to find them only on PC, but this title is completely different from the previous ones, because Bethesda bought the Fallout IP once Black Isle was shut down when Interplay filed bankrupcy, and they made the whole game from scratch)...
-I forgot about Fable II, this is a game that you and your wife can enjoy together if she likes it (a lot of women like this title)...

Racing:

-Midnight Club: Los Angeles.
-Burnout Paradise, good combination of both racing and sandbox genre...
-Need for Speed Undercover (the game has enough racing action to get it, just don't pay too much attention to the cutscenes)

Thank you for your time

Just a question... Which one is better?

 CoD4 MW?

The Orange Box?

Bioshock?

For single player Bioshock, for multiplayer CoD4:MW (it has a good single player also, but the gem of this game is the offline and online multiplayer)

I only recommend The Orange Box if you already played HL1, i don't really care about Team Fortress 2, and if you get online, you can get the amazing Portal as standalone with 14 more levels there.
