sucks . I hope you get your bc model refurbished. unless of course you want a more reliable Non BC PS3

Yeh 60gb is indeed very valuable IMO compared to the ps3 these days.

He uses it heaps!

Newer PS3s are ugly, I like the look of the 60GBs wayyy more!

If you have an old school ipod (not the touch) save your games onto there. It's much easier to get the files off that since they both use the FATS file system.

Well that sucks :/ Did you have the save file backed-up? Is there a way to retrieve the save data by accessing the HDD through your PC?

We know that all saved data must be stored in a certain location in the PS3 and that to transport image onto it, you must specify directory such as PS3/IMAGE etc with all caps. Surely there is a direct pathway to grab the save file data at least?

Damn a lot of 60 GBs are biting the dust lately, am I the only one left?

Maybe it's cause I vacuum my PS3 every 2 months?

I vacuumed my PS3 for the first time a couple weeks ago because the PS3 seemed to have been freezing a lot, and ever sinse I did that it never froze once :)

Also I back up my saves on a thumb drive almost daily, my saves are very important to me.

You have my condolences M.
We should hold a funeral of somesort.
We'll have a reception where people talk about how good your PS3 was, how it touched people's lives, how it made it possible for you to save the world several times over and prevent multiple world destructions..
We'll even hire a crying widow. 
Or we could go old school and shoot a burning arrow into floating hay. ^_^
