Forums - Sony - Beating (Ghostbusting) a dead horse

I'm sure everyone is tired of talking about ghostbusters:the game, but I would like to ask one final opinion related question about the development of the multiplat.

For a while, we were under the impression that Ghostbusters was going to be ps3 timed exclusive because sony had agreed to rescue it when the dev company was sinking. Many a poster here said that "Ghostbusters" was being developed by two different companies. Here is my thought on it.

Ghostbusters on PS3 was going to be dropped because it was still not near finished and was eating a lot of budget. It was multiplat up to a point, say, before polish and optimization. Sony was informed that they would be losing a multiplat so they took over and finished it and shipped it out when it met a minimum quality level.

Thoughts?

lol no.

i belive the ps3 version is a port, same review scores and same game. but 360 version is more tidy.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

wasn't there a lot of speculation that sony rescued this game?
For a couple weeks there everyone was talking about how sony was awesome and stuff.

I believe that it was originally a xbox exclusive. from a different studio as well. at least that is what i saw from a game page awhile back

My thoughts: We all have seen what the PS3 is capable of and we all have seen what the 360 is capable of. Some people are using this game as leverage in the ongoing console war (President Obama refuses to speak of the casualties in this war. Why?). It's just licensed game that came out better for one console than it did on another. There's no lesson to be learned here.

i think sony rescued the game becuase they have the rights to a GB video game and would make money out of it even on the 360/windows version, so making a superb ps3 version was not a priority spcielly becuase movie based games are always medicre and make what they are going to make based prety much on name and not on quality

atari as of just before ghostbusters release no longer publishes in pal regions and all future games are to be published there by part owner namco bandai. The most likely reason to stop publishing is due to the fact that atari is/was extremly poor (i say was because we don't know how well gb did). Though we will never know for sure as we were not at the meeting it is likely that the exclusivity is due to either sonys offer to publish or ataris request for a publisher.

Link, or you are wrong. NamcoBandai bought part of them, because they don't have a european branch.
