Forums - Gaming - Prototype a few things

Prototype is thus far my game of the year.

But keep in mind, I really dont care about production, voice acting, polygon clipping when it comes to games. As long as a game is fun, that is all that matters. This is why 2 of my favourite games this year are Ninja Blade and Prototype.

Prototype is the first sandbox game i have finished since GTA3 Vice city.

Waron, you are completely wrong. You haven't played infamous have you? Its just as chaotic and crazy as prototype. It is story driven, and has mindless crazy fun. You can just run around killing as many people as you wish. Prototype is just more violent with cutting people in half and all that jazz.

Nah, he means that Prototype is more like a toy. Even if everything else was stripped down, it would still be almost just as fun to cause havoc in a large area. It's the engine that is the draw.

Infamous is a more total package, with all the trimmings, graphics, production, ect, but for sheer mindless fun, Prototype is the winner. It is a "beat em up" really, and the fast, arcady feel of the game is what gives it its charm.

That is also why some reviewers didn't like it. It is a very basic game, however, it is also a very fun game.

GTAIV verses Saint's Row II is a great example. Infamous is GTAIV, Prototype is Saint's Row II. Gameplay wise.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Zenfoldor, please tell me you're spelling it "frusteration" on purpose.

I think Prototype missed out by having the review scores come in so late. Even with its decent scores, it's tough to feel confident in its quality.

lol, whatever spelling police.

Anyway, folks should have confidence in its quality because most people who have played it say it is at least good. If they miss out on it because of their own misinformation or faulty assumptions, it doesn't hurt anyone. The game sold well, fans love it, and most Infamous fans are afraid of it. It turned out great.

That said, everyone should have a rental service. How do people outright pay 66 dollars for a game in the age of Ebay and Gamefly, I'll never know.

It's not a matter of being the spelling police. Anyone who wants to project an aura of intelligence won't make such blatant typos. One or two is fine, but there comes a point when it's a big deal. No one says "frust-urr-ashion."

The next two paragraphs are basically you making declarative statements with nothing to back it up. Most people who have played it say it is very good? Unless you actually have a decent sample size to back that up, it's basically an opinionated statement. People will miss out on it because Prototype had reviews and marketing that came in as late as possible. A couple days before its release, it only had a couple reviews (and not very reputable ones). I have no idea why you're saying the game sold well. While I'm sure it sold adequately, the only data you have to go by is one week of European sales. Saying inFamous fans are afraid of the game is pretty condescending. If I just wanted to spout BS, I could easily claim that Prototype owners are just as scared of inFamous.

I played and beated both inFamous and Prototype and I can ssafely ay that I prefered the former. Prototype is a fun game but inFamous was fun and it was also very polished.
