I did not say that, but IMO the 360 fans comments are most obvious. This was also the obvious with regard to HD DVD vs Blu-Ray movies. |
I know you did not say that, it just goes to show how biased and blind you really are. The 360 "fans" comments are most obvious to you because you can't see how trollish you and other PS3 "fans" are. From what I have seen (and this may be due to the larger number of PS3 "fans" on the forum) PS3 "fans" are the most trollish, and this thread is just another beautiful example of it. I couldn't even wade through it before I had to wrap my skull in duct tape!

LOL....Ohh god this guy is x100 the fanboys OP will ever be.
Man...these threads are tiring.
After reading all of that, I gather that MikeB wants acknowledgment that the PS3 is a more powerful piece of hardware.
Well, here you go, from an xbot, the PS3 is more powerful. ON PAPER. The hardware is such a clusterfu**.
It's like having a Ferrari with 600 hp but only 3 wheels. What was Sony thinking? It seems that only Sony devs willing to spend up to twice the standard gaming budgets are the ones that actually make better looking games. That shit wears thin real quick and none of the really important devs will make this sacrifice for a console exclusive.
The games that do look better are only marginally better. I have played through all of the *better* looking games on my PS3 and none of them made me feel justified in spending twice as much on my PS3 as I did my 360. In fact, the PS3 has been relegated to my rec-room as a movie machine for the most part whereas the 360 is the central media hub in my living room.

So true, think Ghostbusters is bad, imagine how it'll turn out when Crysis 2 & Rage only really shine on Xbox 360 (and high end PC's)
Oh hey, BTW A good up converting DVD player gives you a comparable picture to a blu ray player.
And right now, I would not want to go out and spend $40.00 on a blue ray disk. I will wait till they come down in price. As for sound, most people won't even notice the difference, only audiophiles and people with $10,000 sound systems would.

umm no, no matter how good the upscaler is it will not be as good as true 1080p, I use to think like you, but damn there is a difference once you see it with your very own eyes, unless of course you have some visual impairment.

Arnt you the guy that kept saying over and over how the 360 was maxed out graphicly and then E3 rolls around and we get these amazing looking games that really improve on what has been seen on the 360 so far and really hold there own against the best on the ps3 that was shown. |
No that wasn't me, I did however state I believe we won't see much technical gains after Gears 2 on the 360, meaning I don't expect Epic will be able to push Gears 3 much further. Not saying I think Gears 2 was a monumental improvement over the first one technically though. But that's of course something else.

Oh yes, there is a differance, but it isn't really that big. A really good upconverting DVD player will run you about the same as a blu ray player, but if you have a lot of DVDs, and you don't want to be spending $40.00 per movie, then that differance really won't matter to you. Honestly, Blu ray is just not big enough yet for the average consumer to purchase it.

well here's the thing, all blu-ray players have upscalers in them, it's so that you can continue to watch your current DVD collection but at the same time allowing you to purchase blu-ray to further your movie collection in general, I mean you don't have to re-buy your whole collection again, cuz this isn't the same transition that happened with DVD and VHS, the medium is the same in size the only difference is the tech and qaulity of the image and audio, all though it has to be said, that to take advantage of blu-rays 1080p quality one would need a 40" HDtv or larger to see the differnece, I my self have a 42" inch and yeah the difference is clear as day for me.
