Forums - Microsoft - The PS3 related turmoil amongst 360 users

Here in Europe (Germany, France...) rich educated adults like me (I'm 34) prefer PS3. Nobody wants a 360, unless you don't have money to buy a PS3. In Japan it's the same. I know it seems different in the US though... That's why worldwide, they sell roughly the same.

Of course it's mainly rich people for PS3 and poor people for 360 since 360 is half the cost...

Actually, the majority of wealthy households buy the Wii and 360 before the PS3.

Also, in Europe the 360 still sees about 15% more sales, and the 360 is "technically" the more expensive console because of all the necessary upgrades it needs, right?

If you were so rich, then why does your mommy call you 12 years old and say she spent her last penny to buy your PS3?

I don't think it's bad at all, I say MS should buy or build more studios... It's good for us gamers... Or don't I understand what you mean ??

Every $ MS spends on timed exclusives I don't care (since I own both consoles), it brings nothing for me, and it brings nothing to the industry.

When they bring GAMES though, I'm happy (Forza 3, Viva Pinata, anything they CREATE...)

On the sales point I don't know what I can say. PS3 sells the same at twice the price, so of course consumers value PS3 much more worldwide, that's common sense. PS3 sold more than 360 on the same time frame from launch too... Sony is very happy with current PS3 sales, otherwise they would already cut the price. Any price cut will give them back the massive advantage they had in sales before last september, since price made a huge difference for the declining 360 sales too.

Thats bullshit I am in europe too and I am 36 and the truth is only the big sony countries (like Italy etc) are Sony last strong hold and they are slowly failing too.

MS has gained a hell of a lot on Sony since last gen and so has Nintendo the oly thing Sony has done is lose its marketshare.

Nobody but Sonyfans want a PS 3 the rest go for a 360 or a Wii.

I see you take notes from mike B and lie to get your point through.

Yeah Vaio, that's why every week, PS3 beats 360 in hardware and software both in Germany and in France. Or Spain, or Italy.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you can check your facts on any sales charts (see PAL software hardware sales), the only big 360 territory in Europe is the UK, you have the numbers on this site, it's not like it's difficult to find

I disagree, Killzone 2 is better than Gears 2 and Halo 3 for me. I found Gears 2 excellent in single player only, while Killzone 2 kills everything in multiplayer (L4D is fun but graphics are really poor on this game...). At least everybody agrees KZ2 is the best in graphics anyway.

You can dismiss Infamous, but it still handily beats Prototype according to reviews. (I don't know what you mean with your L/R ?). Whatever you think there has been multiple 80+ exclusives on PS3 this year, and nothing on 360 as exclusives (Halo Wars maybe reached 80 on meta, though, I don't remember)

By the way, if you talk about sales, let me remind you that right now, PS3 and 360 sells roughly the same worldwide, while one costs twice more than the other, in the worst recession ever.

If that doesn't mean that people see a lot more value in PS3 than in 360, then I don't know what people need as proof. The fact PS3 was deeply outselling 360 worldwide before last september price cut confirms this fact.

The problem is always the same, Sony will always have much more exclusive content than MS every year since they have tons of talented studios, and MS has very few. MS needs to buy a lot more studios.

Your opinion = not worth squat. The market says Gears 2 is better and the critics say gears 2 is better, even accounting for userbase differences Gears 2 sells more. The fact that the graphics on L4D are pisspoor then the gameplay must be that much better huh?

I like Infamous, its a really fun game but the inverted controls default was a real lame decision, haven't played Prototype but hey I have a soft spot for action games, its probably my pick as about the best this generation so far. I really don't care that the PS3 has had a few early bird exclusives, if I couldn't play them I wouldn't feel that bothered because theres enough content for me to feel ashamed at not playing certain games yet.

Actually its funny, the Xbox 360 supposidly costs more unless people want to make excuses for the relative PS3 performance. You wanna add the $80 for the wireless, $200 for the BR player, $50 for Live, $20 for the play n charge kits etc?

You mean before the price cut that killed the whole years gains, caused the Xbox 360 to outsell the PS3 by close to 2:1 and extend the sales lead to almost 8m? That perfectly timed price cut. Were you one of the people calling Microsoft desperate all year who felt foolish last holiday season?

Sony has a lot of exclusive content? Since when? IIRC if you take out multiplat games the Xbox 360 still has more pure exclusive 90+ games. If they have a lot of studios they must like watching porn or something because I don't see at all that many 1st party games coming out. I don't think Microsoft needs more studios, besides I don't feel like 2nd guessing their decisions.

Tease.

Which console is technically more expansive on the long run doesn't care, you know people don't think about that when they buy their console, that's MS strategy by the way, I thought it was clear at this point.

The cheaper option on the short term is the 360, by far...

It sells the same worldwide, one is much cheaper, so of course the poor buy more 360 and the rich buy more PS3

I feel like I'm teaching Math 101 to a monkey now.

Like I said in my post they are oly winning in the big Sony countries and are slowly loosing the lead they had there too, they used to sell alot more then 360 but don´t sell that much more anymore and Europe is way bigger then those 4 countries unless you didnt know.

As MS gains in those 4 countries slowly and PS is losing marketshare MS is on its way to eclipse it, maybe the PS 3 pricecut can change this and let the PS 3 gain the marketshare it lost so far this gen but i dought it will allow Sony to take back the marketshare it lost, some maybe but a long way from alot of it.

I found Killzone 2 to have one of the worst story mode campaigns I have ever played in a video game. Multi was fun. TF2 obliterates it though. Then again, TF2 also obliterates every other multiplayer game except Left 4 dead anyway, so...

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Well there goes all your credibility. Why pull insults when talking about games?

and by the way Of course the Playstation brand is still very strong but there is ZERO doubt that the Xbox brand is gaining momentum on it.
