It's funny, but Mass Effect is probably one of the cheapest 360 games. I bought it at $14 at Gamestop, after being recommended by one of the workers. Sometimes quality goes unnoticed. Mass Effect 2 should get a far better reception than the last game.

Quality going unnoticed? ME2 getting a far better reception? What planet are you on? Mass Effect sold 2 million copies and has a Meta of 91. It didn't go unnoticed at all.

I am a huge gaming fan, and even I read the gaming news more than I play the games. I didn't even know about Mass Effect until late 2008, when the game was recommended to me. The game also devalued very quickly. 2 Million copies solid is a good reception to me, but not great. Take Tekken 5 for instance...that was a great game, but sold like shit. Tekken 6 will most likely sell two fold what that game sold. The hype of how good Tekken 5 was and how Tekken 6 is an improvement will definitely help the sales.

Well most games that sell 2 million copies, especially new IPs, are considered a success. They also aren't traditionally referred to as going unnoticed. Considering that Mass Effect is also Bioware's highest selling RPG on an Xbox platform, since I don't have PC sales to go by, it should be considered a success based on that alone.

Regarding Tekken 5, I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. It sold 3.66 million on PS2 alone. No fighting game this current generation outside of Smash Bros. Brawl has even gotten close to it's sales. How exactly is Tekken 6 supposed to break 7.3 million in sales("two fold", your words) when Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive, and Soul Calibur can't do it combined or even approach Tekken 5's sales?

I'm not entirely sure what point you're trying to make, but you seem to be a bit delusional in regards to sales.

Last time I checked, the sales for Tekken 5 was 1.5 million. I guess it sold way more than I thought. I'm not delusional...you're just hostile.

Mass Effect will do that...but seriously...nice bet. You were guaranteed to win

One does not cancel out the other. You can be delusional and I can be hostile simultaneously.

Regarding Tekken 5 being at 1.5 million, you're probably thinking of the PSP port, that is up to 1.93 million now.

Conratulations on your bet. I just love Mass Effect. I'm glad it's a SciFi RPG. There is a lack of them. I would also love to see a modern RPG from BioWare.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

If you want a moden RPG that will be like Mass Effect, then look up Alpha Protocol. It is from Obsidian, who helped make KOTOR alongside Bioware. It is like the Bourne with fighting styles and infiltator flair, meets Mass Effect with dialogue, choices and battling style. You can choose go in stealth style, or let all hell break loose. God I love new RPGs!

Watch it in HD!

Actually no...I was just misinformed as to the sales. I had been using the old Wikipedia sales numbers.  Delusion has nothing to this. You're still hostile.
