It's worth pointing out, to the disappointed PS3-only owners out there, that meanwhile a lot of the internet is taking this quote with a grain of salt. For example, the story on Kotaku is titled:

Why Splinter Cell: Conviction Isn't On PS3 (Yet)

The article quotes the same stuff in the OP and then goes on to say:

Interesting. A "link of heart" between a game and a system. Like Final Fantasy. Fat lot of good that "link of heart" did for Final Fantasy XIII.

Regardless of those kind words, don't be surprised to see the game appear on the PS3 somewhere down the line, even if, at E3, we were told by Ubisoft that the dev team didn't even have a PS3 dev kit. After all, these days, "no plans" usually just means "not yet".

Not a big deal. I can understand the mentality of maintaining a specific series on a specific platform, and there is nothing wrong with that. Conviction looks awesome by the way and is a must buy for my 360 library.

Realistically though......it will probably not surpass the bar MGS4 raised for a stealth game this gen. But we shall see.

that's sad news, some people don't have money to buy PS3+PC, I hope this game is just a "timed exclusive".

Never liked the previous Splinter Cell games anyways.

it'll come over to the PS3, it's just a timed exclusive...again it's a matter of time and seeing as their are rumours which caused these guys to comment on it already suggest that there is a little truth to it.

Lol @ rattlesnake good one, but I think Mr. Priceline negotiator was talking about Assassin's Creed. At anyrate, never liked the SC franchise and the series has been on a downturn both critically and commercially and after MGS 4....well, they can keep it.

Splinter Cell has always been awful on Sony systems anyway. Every single one of them has been a degraded experience compared to the Xbox counterpart.

I own a 360, and alas i dont give a shat about this game Nor do i give a shat about Metal Gear.

Modern Stealth games suck, now assassins creed-like games are an other story.

Metal Gear Online was GREAT though really fun stuff there, but as for the so called "Single Player" for this game and MGS games, its well... boring imo.

So i don't see this as a loss as a ps3 gamer is see it as a win since its one of my most hated genre (Modern Stealth) ...

As a 360 gamer, i won't be getting it, exclusive or not, i will say this though, pretty graphics.
