^^ I don't even get that?!

Accusing Shio of over-compensating with his constant "PC is better" posts.

Kinda like a guy driving a Hummer in the city...

Pc is better? Shio always says that, but it`s not true.

Pc doesn`t have Gears 2 or 3.

Fable 2 or Forza 3.

Halo 3 or Ninja Gaiden 2 (1 is also consoles only).

Bayonetta or Dante`s Inferno. Not even Darksiders.

Not even Kojima`s Castlevania. Or Halo Wars. Army of Two 1 and 2 ? Nope.

Where is Condemned 2 Pc port ? it doesn`t exist. Resident Evil 5? Nope.

Even Lost Planet 2 is 360/ps3 even if 1 got a Pc port.

The only games worth playing on Pc are Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. Maybe Stalker too.

Really, the Pc is not the platform it used to be and it will keep getting worse and worse while consoles get better and better.

See, it's ignorant posts like these.

"Pc doesn`t have Gears 2 or 3."

Xbox 360  doesn't have Crysis, Stalker or Quake Live.

"Fable 2 or Forza 3."

Xbox 360 doesn't have Warhammer Online, King's Bounty,  GTR Evolution or rFactor 2.

"Halo 3 or Ninja Gaiden 2 (1 is also consoles only)."

Crysis Warhead, Battlefield Heroes, Global Agenda, Stalker Call of Pripyat, Shattered Horizon.

"Bayonetta or Dante's Inferno. Not even Darksiders."

Zeno Clash, Stalker: Clear Sky, Arma 2 and original Stalker.

"Not even Kojima`s Castlevania. Or Halo Wars. Army of Two 1 and 2 ? Nope."

But Kojima is returning to PC with MGS:Rising. Army of Two was crap. Halo is crap compared to Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, Starcraft 2, etc...

"Where is Condemned 2 Pc port ? it doesn`t exist. Resident Evil 5? Nope."

Comdemned is a mediocre series, and RE5 is coming to PC actually. And Lost Planet 2 is coming to PC too.

LoL @ shio`s damage control. A bunch of games that are exclusive to Pc but nobody cares for.

Sales on consoles will always rise and Pc sales will always fall because more and more people buy the console version instead of the Pc version. Plus, the ones that use a Pc can anytime pirate the game at no additional charge or effort.

Steam? No thanks, there are plenty of torrent sites that make Steam irrelevant. Even multyplayer is piratated,so take a break.

As the consoles sale more and more, less games will be made available on Pc because of the piracy and porting costs(many systems out there and many optimisation is needed).

Condemned is a mediocre series? Try Stalker...now that is a mediocre series.

Crysis 2 will be on consoles, and many more Pc exclusives will arive on consoles? Why? Because they sale on consoles. Period.

"Xbox 360 doesn't have Warhammer Online, King's Bounty,  GTR Evolution or rFactor 2" -> Xbox 360 doesn`t care

And will you install Vista to play Alan Wake? Or you will say "what a lame game" and stick with XP? Lost Odyssey sucks too?

Look...you have Starcraft 2...Warcraft...Diablo 3...WoW... enjoy them. But don`t say consoles don`t have exclusive games or console only games. Final Fantasy 13 will not come to Pc just as Starcraft 2 will not come to consoles. It just can`t be done and people won`t buy them even if they do. Period.

what does piracy have to do with what you guys are talking about? o_O; it's not like people don't pirate console games(or handheld,) hell, it's even easier. in my opinion it's best to have every platform so you can enjoy all the games you like, there is no point trying to argue which is better, and it's not news that PC wins by sheer number of install base, so what? I do find it a little bull shitting that I hardly touch the 360 anymore though, really thinking about selling it at this point sigh.

1998 says hello.

I personally say no but everyone is welcome to their opinion as tastes in games is too subjective, as Shio unintentionally showed in this thread. Also please don't write PC gaming off, a lot of technical innovation filters from the PC industry into the console world and if PC gaming ever did die then technically innovation would be a lot slower for the console market.

the current cost of deving these HD console games is also dragging down the real tech advancements that we used to see on PC games too, it's a shame really, the possibility would be much higher by now if they didn't have to optimize everything for the weaker platforms, but if publishers and devs think they can make more money doing it, then that's all fine by me too, as long as I think the game is good.

It's the golden age of overpriced, me too, soulless hd gaming for sure. The golden age of gaming was from the advent of the Nes through the early to mid 90s and culminated in 1998. Some of the biggest franchises in gaming today got their start on the Nes. The next 18 months will not be a golden age of memorable gaming, hell, it won't even be the Byzantine empire.

Nostalgia isn't a good thing... Everything as good as they are now or will be in the future will never be as good as they used to be... Common guys, 1998 is past now, it'll never comeback,2010 is going to be one of the most important year for gaming ever(console and PC included) for sales and i hope for quality too. Many of those games will sell a ton but won't be remembered or played in the future, in other hand many will sell just okay but will leave it's mark forever in gamers and developers. I do hope many of those games become new true classics too compete with the old ones.

For me personally, I'd say so.  I currently have like 14 games pre-ordered, far more than I have ever have pre-ordered at any time in the past:

Little King's Story
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Prof. Layton and the Diabolical Box (I think that's the name?)
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Uncharted 2
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
God of War III
The Last Guardian
Final Fantasy XIII
White Knight Chronicles (may cancel this one - really just pre-ordered it on a whim)
LittleBigPlanet PSP
Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier

These are the games I'm contemplating pre-ordering:

Gran Turismo 5 (it's a given at some point)
Supreme Commander 2 (another given - I just need to upgrade my PC first lol)
Scribblenauts
Metroid Prime Another M

And these are the games I'll pre-order whenever GameStop puts them in the system:

Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Metal Gear Solid: Rising
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Zelda Wii

So yeah, I'm looking forward to more games than EVER, and so many are hitting this year, with plenty more in the first half of next year! It's insane!

Of course, back in the late 90s, had I been able to actually afford games back then, and had I known what was coming out, it'd probably would've surpassed this upcoming period.  I mean, 1998-2000 saw the Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, MGS, etc.

No, this gen is already getting old despite how long its expected to continue on for. None of the games on the current consoles are ever going to be that much better graphically than Killzone or Crysis on PC quality. If the big three won't release a new console, then somebody else needs to enter the game with a more powerful console like in the second half of the 16 bit era when 3DO and Atari Jaguar came out at least they did a good job of tiding those of us that wanted something better over until the popular 32 bit machines came out.

2008 was the golden year for gaming.

Well, if you want a more powerful plataform there is already the PC  for you... For me 360 and PS3 graphics still beeing pretty good and so do they're games. 3DO,Jaguar,PCengine,NeoGeo and DreamCast performed well to intermediary-gen consoles, DC even get a good 3rd party support also. I think getting a intermediary-gen console is waste of money because they tend to be abondened soon and the real next-gen consoles tend to get enhanced ports of their mains games.
