can you install a radeon 4870x2 on a intel's x58 motherboard asus rampage extreme ii?

now my cpu would be i7 core 920 and motherboard would be asus rampage extreme ii.

i've read from someone's pc rig that they had a intel's motherboard with a radeon graphics card.

You mean because the Radeon it's made by AMD? That's not a problem, just make sure you have enough power supply for that monster.
