Forums - Sony - If Sony's PS-Mote Gets Released...

Yeah I could see them porting a few Wii games over in 1080P or whatever. Possibly making them available on PSN. It's not outside the realm of possibility that's for sure.

I think until all 3 systems are HD you won't see any Wii games "ported" over to the other systems. You're probably see games originally being made for the Wii be made for all 3 ground up. What I don't think people realize is the additional cost to HD development that Motion Controls will bring. I have a feeling that MC HD games will not "look" as stellar as non-mc games, just a hunch...

Sorry i may sound stupid but cant NATAl do the same thing? just have the the tracker track you right hand and natal is a wii mote..... lol?

People please with the "tacked-on" motion control idea, this is what ALOT of Wii games (until developers realize you can't do it) were criticized HARD for. In order for the other systems to do motion controls and have them be a "difference maker" they can't be half-assed.

I think with Natal no ones confirmed how it will track finger movements as button presses. Personally I think what they are going to do is pair up Natal with the old school controller. Don't know how much better that will make games, but who knows...

The controls of GodFather, RE4, and a couple of other TPS are all praised for their control(and some of the first titles available for the system). Some people say it's hard to come back to dual analog afterwards. They could "tack on" those controls.

FPS controls have been implemented well already in a few FPS, MP3, COD4, etc. They could do so there as well.

Pointing based shooters could make there way over(HOD etc.)

Simulation games and more shovelware can make it's way over

Sports and Racing seem to have some decent motion controls.

Since a lot of developers have Wii experience it wouldn't be hard to just tack on good motion controls as we've discovered what works for most of the genres currently in existence. They don't have to go back and rethink on most of them. Especially larger companies who can just bring over the code or guys from the old wii games.

Pixeljunk monsters looks lovely and could use pointer controls and it's an HD game that didn't break the bank.  As it is also being ported to the PSP.  Why couldn't something like this happen for Wii PSN games or is that just unfeasible?

Port over all the Resident Evil Wii games to PS3 and ill be happy =)

But anything you can do on the wii you can do with natal..you may need an extra accessory like a gun...but its all doable. So you should be able to port wii games to both systems.

And dead space extraction!

I doubt it. Firstly, a port from Wii to PS3 would be a port up. The game would need significantly more detail (and features) to justify that extra power being used. This would also take a fair bit of money.

Secondly, the Wiimote comes with every Wii, which means that every single Wii will be able to use those motion controls. Sony motion control will require a Playstation Eye AND a PS3Mote, which could easily add on an extra $100 together. The userbase would be significantly smaller.

Thirdly, the PS3 and Wii motion sensing is very different. While the Wii motion sensing is picked up by a sensor bar, and uses two dimensions, the PS3 motion sensing is picked up by a camera, and uses THREE dimensions. You can move forwards and backwards in the game. And it has a coloured orb on the end!

So in short, no, this wouldn't happen.

Inclination 360º x 360º determines 3 dimensions, you're wrong.

The wand and the wiimote are different, but for different reasons.
