But Gamestop isn't the one creating the demand... they're only meeting supply to the demand we the consumer brought up.

Well used games are a rip off gamestop only gives a $5 discount on used games. That terrible pricing. Like renting are also killing this industry.

i'd imagine most/all of them. i'd guess things like the psp GO and xbox's full retail game download service are scaring them too.
Pirates and Used Games ... I wish both were exterminated. If you can't afford a game, tough. Its a luxury not a necessity.
Used anything is the life blood of any industry. FYE does it, Blockbuster Video does it, used games make these place more money. This will continue and the manufactures will be forced to lower prices or sell at less locations and lose money. I don't see either happening.
Gamestop just sucks. I pre-ordered Cross Edge (please don't ask me why - the game sucked!!!) and I arrive to my local store to pick it up and they hand me an open copy. No shrinkwrap or nothing.
I asked the guy working there where my brand new copy of Cross Edge was that I pre-ordered. He proceeded to let me know that Game Stop's policy was that if they opened a copy of a game from the shrinkwrap but never sold it they still considered it "brand new".
I told them they were crazy and that it is only new if I receive the game the way it was shipped from the distributor/manafacturer. For all I know they just handed me a used copy of a game if it isn't sealed. Has anyone else had this problem with this store?
I am definitely never shopping there again. I get my games cheaper online any way and they almost always get to me on the release date any way.
I don't like used games any way. Half the time they are missing stuff and they are dirty.
Like someone else said to - you only save like $5 for a junked up copy.
Well, the Gamestop never ask me to buy a used game at all. Maybe because its been a long time since I've been there. I'll let you guys know, if this happens the next time I go to Gamestop.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY

The problem is - most recently released games sell for no less thant $55 used... ...so you save a whole $5, Gamestop reaps a huge profit, and the developer/publisher gets screwed. Bring on digital distribution - DOWN WITH GAMESTOP!!!!

Plus 10% with your edge card(which they also relentlessly beat you down till you buy)
so that is $10 off.
though i buy all my games new
