Forums - Gaming - Will Final Fantasy 7 on PSN bring the value of the physical copy down?

So I still have the original game with its package intact and the discs barely have scratches. I used to see FF7 selling on ebay for like $100 bucks a few months back. Do y'all think its price will go down over time? If so do y'all think it would be a good time to sell it or maybe wait for the holidays when people are more willing to spend and with potential with a higher price?

What are you looking at, nerd?

If it does then it'll probably go back up when the next gen comes

I sure hope so...

Some prices on ebay are simply outrageous... Suikoden 2 goes up to $150.

I imagine it would go down.

Why would you pay $100+ when you could get it for $10?

The only people that would buy the disc at this point would be PS2 owners looking for it.

I would think so, but not by too much i imagine, some people would still prefer to own the physical copy and would be willing to pay what it takes to get it. And as long as it is kept in great shape, the value will always go up after time.

100 bucks???? wow I should really sell one of my copies.

I hope so :)

The value of a greatest hits copy, maybe. The original black label version will always be expensive as hell.  Anybody that cares about whether the game has the black label or not will be unaffected by a PSN release, and thus sellers will still be able to get high bids for the original black label version of the game.  Peopel taht just want to play the game, however, will probably just try to gnab the GH version, or now the PSN version.

Yes it will plummet, cause people have an alternative to the physical copy version. Therefore less people are bidding on physical copies. The price of a sealed FF7 will stay high as ever but opened, greatest hits or not will drop in value. Just look at MVC2, game went for $70 a copy easily at one point and the announcement of the DLC allows me to get the game for $20 to $30 if you do some work.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I would hope so. It is a great game but over 50dollars for the cheapest used one in (acceptable) condition is just insane
