What a boring draft. At least I got a nice 2 hour nap out of it, left me with lots of energy.

Calgary Trades the rights to D Jordan Leopold and a 3rd Round pick for the rights of D Jay Bouwmeester. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=283033

This is not good news at all for my Canucks. I thought that they didn't have the cap space for him, but taking a closer look, they just might have enough. They have 8.5 million free, but they need to sign/call up 3 forwards. If they sign Bouwmeester for say, 5.5 million, they'll have 3 million left to sign 3 500k guys (or slightly above) and still be under the cap. They won't have any semblance of a 2nd line, but they'll have a very deep defense. I hope he waits till the 1st, and sees what other offers come his way.

I actually they think the Flyers gave up a LOT for one year of Pronger. But hey, they will be much better for that one year.

Awesome avatar!

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Got a retro room? Post it here!

The Pens resign Guerin for $2 Million, 1 year. Good price, right term at his age. What was supposed to be a rental for a mid-round pick turned out to be an integral part to their playoff run and will probably score 20 for them next year. Great move by Shero.

Sharks resign Blake, 1 year, $3.5 Million. Good signing, again a good price. Played very well last year, although he started looking a bit tired near the end.

I'm very surprised by the Guerin signing. I didn't think he'd go for much less than $3m on a one-year deal (and he's obviously too risky for a multi-year). THe Pens have a little over $5m to work with.

I still wish we could trade Kunitz, Staal, or Dupuis. I like all three of them, but I think they're all overpaid to various degrees.

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired centre Scott Gomez from the New York Rangers in exchange for winger Chris Higgins.

Interesting. I'm not sure how much Higgins is paid, but I'm guessing this is only the start of salary dumping in NY. I think that they really want Heatley.

Heatley AND Sean Avery in the same locker-room? If only they could've signed Ray Emery too...

Ho baby, a star has finally arrived in Montreal! Pricy for sure, but better then being left for scraps on free agency day another damn year. I am very excited!
