JR set to retire........about time I guess. Maybe it's just me, but he didn't seem to be very effective as a role player. Never really recovered from his multiple concussions. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=286735

And since the Rangers walked away from an arbitration ruling, Zheredev is now a UFA. Someone might take a flyer on him, but he reportedly wants $4.75 million.........not worth anything near that in my mind. He could be worth that if he had some heart, but not the way he plays right now. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=286726

I'm both saddened & happy that JR is retiring. He was an effective role player when he was with the Sharks & a great mentor for the younger guys, as well as a great sense of humor (if you don't believe me, watch this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_RlCrhGQ2U ). I'm pretty sure he did lead the league in game-winning-goals for a long time during the 2007-2008 season. I sure hope he goes into broadcasting or some sort of management position with the Sharks

This is interesting - Theo Fluery, at age 41, is attempting to make a comeback. I don't know how much his skills have deteriorated, but I remember him, Lindros and York playing well together in New York and he must have been 36 or 37 then. If he plays anywhere, it'd be nice to see him with the Flames - some guys just seem like they wear one jersey better than the others....Fleury's a Flame to me. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=287047

Flyers are looking thoguh again this year, only question mark is in goal, hopefully Emery smartens up and if not well they have (sigh) Boucher to fall back on...

I miss Nitty : (

Fluery and Belfour should make RPHL (Retired People Hockey League) together.

Boucher is a great goalie, not sure how he would handle a starter position should Emery falter but he can easily handle a back-up position & win games. He'll prolly do a string of shut-out games if he gets on a roll

Patrick Kane has reportedly been arrested for assaulting a cabbie in Buffalo. He allegedly took back his fare and punched the man after he didn't get the 20 cents in change he was owed. Kane, as you might remember, is a multimillionaire.

The Blackhawks are officially snakebitten.

He must have been drunk. Either way, that was an idiot move. Way to lose my respect Patrick

You really have to wonder what his thought process was in that situation (assuming these allegations are true). I know guys that age are stupid (hell I'm one of them) but seriously, risking assault charges over less than a quarter?
