Not that I normally give a damn for PC games, but with Bioware it's a different story. Their games just feel like they belong on PCs.

They really are.  Their PC efforts always seem to be their best efforts.  Besides, modding games like Jade Empire and KotOR makes them much more fun than their console counterparts.

These requirements are not very steep at all. I will be getting this game on PC almost immediately after release, I have been waiting for this game for a long time.

Wow i passed with flying colours...i'll still get this for my 360 though cause it will be an infinitely better experience than on a pc...

hahahaha, this is Bioware, and all Bioware games are much better on PC. Dragon Age especially will be vastly better on PC because of the mod community

With next gen games costing over sixty million dollars to make, it is in developers best interest to develop for consoles. PC's are a risk for profit, unless you are Blizzard.

PC exclusives can be a risk if the game has a high budget, but the statement above has nothing to do with financial solvency and profitability but rather the superior version of this multiplat game which will without a doubt be the PC version in this case. Setting aside the potential for customization and modding community have a read at what ign had to say about the E3 presentation of Dragion Age:

"BioWare also showed off the Xbox 360 verison of the game for the first time (all the demos to this point have been running on the PC). Obviously, the interface has been tweaked to work with the Xbox 360 controller, but the big news here are the visuals. If you want the best looking version, stick with the PC, as the Xbox 360 version just lacked the razor crisp high-res textures and the sophisticated lighting of the PC game. We're not sure what the PS3 version looks like, as it's still unseen at this point."

If your PC can handle this (and those requirement are reasonable) then get the PC version. The only thing that will stop my getting this on the PC is if EA uses some draconic DRM measure, I will NOT have securom on my PC ever.

Lets make a bet right now that Dragon Age will sell shit on PC.

Man, pretty much all threads in the pc forum contains bickering about pc vs consoles. This game looks pretty rocking to me.

Also, most multiplatform PC games fail to sell much more than a couple of 100k.

I've been looking for PC game sales figures for ages- can you point me towards where you got these from please?

Me too, it's a shame that these threads have to be crashed all the time. If anything, they complement each other; it really doesn't have to be one against the other- get a console or two and a decent PC and enjoy yourself. Restricting yourself because you 'support' one multi-billion dollar corps against another is idiotic in the extreme.

Um are you on a different frequency? Did I not just mention that sales has NOTHING to do with the post you replied to?? Watch as I paraphrase the convo below:

john: 360 version of Dragon Age will be the better expirience

shio: no the PC version will be, mod > j00

you: developer will develop for console first cuz they sell better!

me: um what does that have to do with which version is better? Shio's right, the PC version is superior here's some observation from the industry.

you: lets bet to see that the PC version sell like crap!!

Holy jesus on a batglider! Yes the PC version will likely sell less at retail. I repeat what does that have to do which which version of Dragon Age is superior?

My computer is a little bit above the min spec, so I expect it will run well enough for me to enjoy it... but 20 GB of hard drive? That's a pretty huge chunk of drive...

Likely for the editor, there's no way the game alone takes up that much space.

Ouch @ the minimum Vista specs. My ~2 year old laptop is well below the minimum specs...Even my ~$2000 Dell XPS from last year doesn't have the recommended specs. Guess I have to stick to console.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

From one of the Bioware programmers:

"Especially concerning CPU and system memory, you guys shouldn't be worrying as much about meeting the recommended system requirements for playing this game. I run the game fine on my 2 gig vista/2.13 GHz Core 2 Duo machine at home, and I'd be suprised if someone experienced significant performance gains when running Dragon Age on a quad core CPU, compared to an otherwise identical setup with a dual core CPU.

The video card will probably affect your experience more. Even though you'll get the full game experience on the minimum required graphics cards, having a recommended or better video card will make a difference in the visual quality of the game. That said, it very much depends on what kind of gamer you are and how much attention you pay to graphics. I personally enjoyed the game just as much on my laptop playthrough using the lowest visual quality setting."

So yeah, PC version is the way to go.
