Haha one of the few times I've seen MS acknowledge themselves as second in the market... generally use some spin to put them at the top.

Actually they've done that for a while. They've even gone as far as to state that second place was their present goal this generation.

Tease.

Can't wait for MGS Rising. MGS 4 is the best game this gen along with COD 4.

Imagine all Xbox owner's surprise when they find out its only a ninja hack n' slash game based in the metal gear world and Ninja Gaiden will probably be a lot better than it

For a spin-off that's not even a stealth game? Really? So then, to use the Wii as an example, you would rather have Umbrella Chronicles than Resident Evil 5, Extraction than Dead Space, Rayman Raving Rabbids than Rayman 3, etc. It's a spinoff that's not even in the same genre. Would you be excited about Dragon Quest Swords multiplat to 360 but Dragon Quest X still Wii exclusive? Of course not. FFXIII was a big deal. This is not.

I'm glad PS3 still has MGS4 as a exclusive, what has MS lost in terms of third party exclusives? Not much outside of MGS4.

I look forward to MGS:Rising.

Achievement Unlocked.

Uh MS has very few 3rd party exclusive franchises. Wave to your fans PC.

I'm really put off buying this game aswel. Don't get me wrong if it look's good and there's nothing else to play around that time then I'll get the game but building it to suit the Xbox mean's less disc space and less creative idea's and creative idea's was 1 thing that really made the metal gear franchise. If MGS4 took up a whole blu ray then what's MGS rising gonna be like. A downgrade.

Sorry its not mission accomplished. Mission accomplished would have been getting MGS4 to be multi-platform from the get go, like GTA4.

All MGS fans have already bought, or are going to buy a PS3 to play MGS4. No MGS fan will buy a 360 to play MGS:R, when they can buy a PS3 and play both.

Does your rhetoric make you happy? You realize that MGS4 only took up a whole bluray because they burned up the extra space with uncompressed audio right? which is like filling up a CD by playing 45 minutes of silence before a 2 minute hidden track.

Absolutely nothing suggests the game will be downgraded for the 360. If anything, you'll get the same experience with shorter load times on the 360, like most multiplats.

Well MS got MG Rising, not MGS4. Its just like saying that Nintendo has Final Fantasy, but its not FFXIII or in line with that but its Crystal Chronicles. Not saying these 'side' games are bad but its better to aim for the 'main' game. But if MS is happy to get a piece of these side games then more power to them.

Why does everyone keep on saying this? Has it ever been confirmed, or is it all just speculation?

After all, the Dolby Digital (a form of audio compression) logo appears when you start up the game.

Whatever you think, the game has a lot of textures (there must be several hundred for the Octocamo alone) and a lot of spoken dialogue (as much as, if not more than, most JRPGs, which are shipping on 3 or 4 discs on the 360). It's not hard to imagine that MGS4 would take up several of the 360's DVD9s, even with loads of compression.
