Iceberg Interactive Becomes Licensed Nintendo Developer

Up-and-coming videogame publisher Iceberg Interactive has announced today that it has signed a Publisher License Agreement with Nintendo of Europe GmbH. This agreement will allow Iceberg Interactive to publish and develop products on the Wii, the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo DSi platforms.

Erik Schreuder, CEO of Iceberg Interactive said, “This is a significant milestone in the growth of the company. It gives us the opportunity to further expand our product catalogue and take Iceberg Interactive to the next level. We look forward to working with Nintendo.”

Iceberg Interactive is a brand new videogame publisher hoping to make a splash in the videogames industry. Staffed with industry veterans and with offices in key locations around the world, Iceberg Interactive is a new alternative for developers looking to bring their products to a worldwide audience. Iceberg Interactive’s portfolio of products will include titles for both the PC and console platforms, with a special focus on the casual gamer and specialty niche products. Those released so far include Killing Floor, a Survival Horror First-Person Shooter, and Restaurant Empire II, a restaurant based Management Simulation game.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I have no idea who they are, but I'll be looking forward to what they make next. Grand Theft Mario maybe? A new Yoshi's Safari?

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Killing Floor was a very fun game. Its like a mini Left 4 Dead, so I expect something good from them!

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

they just published it in Europe, Tripwire Interactive made it.

and as far as I can tell it only means that now they can publish/develop Wii games, going by the title I thought they were going to make a game for Nintendo, something like that.

Ah thats right....for $20 it was a steal, anyway. So they just got a contract to POSSIBLY publish games on the Wii now? Meh.

@salaminizer, Yea well signing something usually means a contract has been organised between the groups. I thought it made sense.
