Playing PC games is not as comfortable as with consoles. I like to sit far away from my TV and play. With PC you are bound to the desk and I know there's wireless keyboards and mouse but even that is just way uncomfortable.

Also, I just need the computer to get on th e internet, send emails, and use word documents. A $300 dollar PC can do that, but I assure you it won't play Bioshock

You can plug your PC into your TV, enough said. You can also play your PC games with a gamepad. So your entire argument is wrong.

Oh and a $300 PC can play Bioshock...

Ok buddy, I'll buy a gamepad and play Starcraft II with it. Let's see how that goes.....

well my PC cost me 2 times the price of my PS3 and my PS3 come me US$600, and that was 2 year ago, today i cant play L4D, gears1, the sims 3, MassEffect or Last remnant on full settings or medium, that means PC has become the most expesive option for gaming, i can buy a wii a ps3 and a 360 with what i need to make my PC a gaming PC again, but that will only last for a year,so no thanks no more PC gaming for me.

I got tired of spending more time on upgrading, installing and patching games than playing them. Buying all 3 Wii, Xbox360 and PS3 was a lot cheaper than upgrading my PC every 6 month for "a" new game. For the most part I can just put the disk in and start playing no more waiting.

upgrading and patching are no longer problems of modern PC gaming. New Gaming PCs without upgrades can keep playing new games much more than consoles can. And patching nowadays are streamlined and you no longer need to hunt for patches due to services like Steam (most games themselves now have an automatic way to upgrade even).

Installing I don't even call a problem because that's something I believe most PC gamers would do it just to help on the loading times. Consoles now even have installs.

I think the best thing about PC gaming today is that you don't even need to put a disk to play! All you need is to click on your game's icon to play it, no disk.

Funny you should mention that.  My girlfriend was hunting high and low today for her Sims 3 disc so she could play the game.

Or she could've just bought the game on Gamersgate, Direct2drive or some other DDS and wouldn't need to worry about discs...

My PC is for work not for game.

When there's a game I might want to play, it requires me to throw $200 for a new video card to enjoy the most of it.
That really turns me off. I don't want to upgrade the PC every 2 years just to meet the game standard.

My PC is without a doubt my main gaming platform - no framerate issues, cheaper games, mod compatibility, better controls (Mouse/keyboard for shooters and X360 pad for action/adventure games), better graphics and sometimes extra content.

I would not trade my PC for a cheaper hardware with crippled and more expensive games and *ahem* paying to play online.

Take my love, take my land..

Well, I would personally love to get back into PC gaming, and I have the money to do it. Putting a PC together is pretty easy and I Have replaced almost every major component in my old PC but I just dont know what components I would need to make it a gaming worthy PC.

I have a Mac desktop and I spent $400 Au on my laptop (it plays CS and even the specialists) Modern games I do not play
