After reading Iwata mention it in an interview, I felt I would research it more, found the book on it and read it (bought it). I have to say the book lays out fully what Nintendo is trying to do. And it is important to understand the book to make sense out of it. Anyhow, I recommend people get ahold of the book and read it, if you want to learn more. My take on Blue Strategy is that it leads to an industry growing. Competitors in an industry who do that, actually grow the industry. Of course, no guarantee an attempt at the strategy will work though.
I found the book of value and am looking to apply it to a not-for-profit corporation I am involved in. Actually it had been doing Blue Ocean a few years, without actually calling it such.
