Forums - Gaming - Ghostbusters: PS3 is 3/4 resolution of Xbox 360 version

@Selnor

looks to me like a setup issue.
So dark on 360 I can't see the details on her Jersey @3:35... not the only example either

and what TWesterm said about the capture issue

the dude in that vid can't even operate a tripod, why should I take his word that these supposed texture popins are PS3 only?

What frequency is his camera operating at vs. the television?

odd things can happen when filming screens and until I see this for myself I don't thinkit's a big deal.

Why did none of the reviews I've read seem to mention this as specific to the PS3 anyway?

apparently screen tears and popins are offered on both HD console versions as a standard feature.

from IGN, if you think they're valid. if not ignore.
No mention of low res that I can see.

"For all the fanboys out there who want to beat their chests about which system got it right, there are some differences between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of this game. The PS3 features an eight-minute, 4 GB install that apparently doesn't do much seeing as how it takes both games about 30 seconds to load after a death or load a mission from the main screen. Although the PS3 has exclusive videos about refurbishing Ecto-1 and the Blu-ray trailer, the graphics seem to be a touch dumbed down on Sony's system. When you proton stream burns a wall on the 360, there's a black gouge in the wall that features smoldering embers and bits of fire. On the PS3, you get the fire and black gouge, but the little embers embedded in the cut don't make it. Similarly, when you attack Stay Puft on Microsoft's console, you're making dramatic changes to his puffy exterior. On the PS3, these changes aren't as severe -- it's almost like a bruise rather than a fiery cut. Still, I'll save you the suspense and tell you both versions are getting the same score for graphics because the overall package is solid on each platform. "

IGN only point out graphical differences if it's as obvious as custard pie on someone's face. They will then call it a sligh difference. That is my general take on it, I've noticed some reviewers there just don't even like comparing the 2 no matter the difference due to backlash from fanboys.

Or you could just accept that there's definately something in it but your not sure just how much. Instead of appearing in complete denial.

Beyond3D is a trusted source when it comes to this sort of thing. I mean usually when there is a native resolution issue, Beyond3D is the one to bring it to the fore front. If I have the time, I'll check their forums.

@ Int. Douche
well, 1up doesn't comment on it

nor does gameinformer

Totalvideogames mentions that "some stages are a little rough around the edges" so no major complaints there

http://www.totalvideogames.com/Ghostbusters-The-Videogame/review-14259.html

gamespot says "The frame rate occasionally struggles to keep up on all three platforms, and while there are some minor differences among them, the game looks colorful and attractive regardless of which version you choose. "

Cheatcc doesn't mention either platform being better either

nor does gamepro

and nor does IGN (only mentions tearing common to 360 version and stilted animation)

or GameSpy

Games radar only complains about screen tearing and framerate issues, and cut scenes, not PS3 specific.

ING AU doesn't mention any differences either
