I'm pretty sure the nascar racing part of GT5 will be like a normal nascar race where there are 40 some cars and it will probably be on official nascar race tracks.

Honestly i would get both...they both are looking amazing.

Im not sure. As you know cars in GT and Forza are beautifully designed, I thin getting 40 of them on one track would be a stretch.

And yes, the games will be awesome!!!!

Well that would suck if they only have 16 nascar cars on the track...I'd rather not have that feature if they gimp it like that.  But i am fully confident that PD can pull it off, you might not be able to play multiplayer with nascar but i'm sure they could figure out single player and make it work.

Im not confident, I don't even think it's possible

Maybe 25 max I'd say.

I don't have money to waste on 2 racing games considering that I do not care too much for the racing genre to begin with.

I need something to play when my brother comes home every once in a while or when my Father actually feels like playing something with me on the sofa. He is a big NASCAR fan so I am leaning towards one for that alone and having double the cars available to drive as well as double the cars on the tracks during races also leans me heavily in favor of one of these titles.

Game can look as nice as it wants but in the end some things far outweigh the others. I still however want to see how extnesive Forza's tweaking options really are, although to be completely honest it really needs to be something really special and makes me go "WOW!" to shift my preference at the moment.

Who knows, it just might.

I assumed Forza matched Gran Turismo in terms of cars on the track during races and was quite upset to hear that that is not the case.

Not to sound like a jerk, but after all of the recent "Definitive racing game" garbage that has flooded the net lately I must admit that the information I just learned in this thread really really disappoints me.

Well i guess you could buy the one that suits you most, and just rent the other from gamefly.

That is probably what I will end up doing. I'll most likely let my father and brother dictate which game I purchase.

I 100% agree with you on the "gimping" NASCAR comment. I will be very disappointed if the NASCAR license goes to a developer who won't even impliment a true NASCAR experience.

That is like someone else getting the NFL rights from EA and making a 10 team NFL game. -.-

Got a retro room? Post it here!

@Taz!

I is 100% possible to pull it off. I would gladly take a small dip in graphical quality, for instance maybe dropping resolution a bit, etc... to give me 35 cars instead of 16.

Yeah people won't be able to say "Best graphics, RAWR!!!" but at least I get the satisfaction of knowing that I at least get a full NASCAR experience. Something that will easily outweigh any graphical quality they want to throw in front of me.

PD pride themselves on great car models, they won't sacrifice that. Having 40 cars on one track all perfectly detailed in 1080p at 60FPS is just crazy IMO. I see the Nascar and WRC in GT5 being more off an 'extra' to be honest.

Time will tell though..

Well how many people get the NASCAR license?

From what I know I have only seen the official NASCAR titles and nothing more. If PD has exclusive rights to NASCAR now then I prefer them to not have it because then I will have to sit here in disappointment knowing that for quite a long time I will not be able to grab my father a proper NASCAR title to play.

As for my comment on the graphical dip. I wasn't meaning to drop the entire game's quality but just the NASCAR mode. I doubt any NASCAR fan will settle for around 1/3rd or less of what their sport of choice is supposed to offer.

How much damage can a drop from 1080p native resolution to let's say 720p or 640p in just the one mode really do to the car models themselves?

1. Forza 3= 8. GT5= 16.

2. I dont know to be honest. I would wait for confirmatrion because i cant see PD obly putting 16 out of 40 cars on a track. But nothing has been confirmed so

3. PD has stated that they are going to be introducing a store where you can purchase and upgrade the cars internals, like tires, engines ect ect. Even more so then oher GT games. Of course you will purchase this stuf with in-game money called credits.

Erm forza 3 is said to be very customisable when it comes to the look of your car. Paint jobs deco ect ect. I dont know about the internal stuff though,

My own points

GT has always been more realistic when it comes to the handling f the cars. For me Forza games have always been more arcade like with most cars driving more or less the same unlike GT where every car drives like it would in the real world.

Eva way if you prefer the more realistic handling, fine tuning of the engines, NASCAR, more racers on a track at once and crisp graphics then GT5 is for you.

If you prefer to customise your car how you want it to look, and more relaxed handling of the cars with decent graphics then forza 3 is for you.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Is Forza 3 really limited to just 8 cars per race?

I'd like some official confirmation as that just seems too low

Yeah, I think Eurogamer confirmed this.

Fooey. I hate Eurogamer... Lol, oh well. I also hate racing sims I actually prefer arcade style better. If I want realistic I'll go out and drive it myself
