Forums - Microsoft - How much is Bill Gates' signature worth?

It's for charity. It's not really designed for the average gamer to buy it (and then it gets RROD a month later) but an old dude that puts it in a glass case, and says to his friends "Yeah I gave 10 grand to some charity and Bill Gates sent me this"

A good forgery expert.

Exactly my thoughts.

Maybe the bill gates signature isn't that big a deal to some -- not to me, either, but how about the support of the boys and girls club? It's a very worthwhile charity and the "package" of all the stuff is great. Beyond the retail value of $2000, anything above that is a charitable donation... is it possible someone wants all the Halo branded stuff and is also interested in donating some money to a worthwhile cause? Some folks need to get off their high horse and realize there is more to life than bashing...

Also, if you read the WHOLE link it mentions a couple of things about getting a certificate from Microsoft indicating it's authenticity...  Again, that could be forged, too, but that is getting in pretty deep when the link to it is found on the official Xbox website...  Why is it so hard to believe that someone at microsoft couldn't get bill to pause for 10 seconds at the office and sign an Xbox?  He does, afterall, go into the office and works closely with all of his senior executives...

I hate trolls.

I forgot about that.  It is at the bottom of the Q and A section under the description of everything you get.

I'm curious what would happen if the 360 got RRoD. Would they have Bill sign another?

Either way, nice charity thing

Nothing, as Bill Gates is still alive.

In general I would say his signature is worth the $ amount of the check he signed ... beyond that it all depends on the circumstances.

If it is an effort to raise money for a cause then the signature is worth whatever the bidders are willing to pay- the market determines the value as it does with everything else (at least in theory). Imagine the hype that would surround a Job's signed package of an Iphone, Itouch and whatever else ...

Yeah, but the bashers just can't resist, now can they?
