In general I would say his signature is worth the $ amount of the check he signed ... beyond that it all depends on the circumstances.
If it is an effort to raise money for a cause then the signature is worth whatever the bidders are willing to pay- the market determines the value as it does with everything else (at least in theory). Imagine the hype that would surround a Job's signed package of an Iphone, Itouch and whatever else ...
