In watching television with my six-year-old son, I see plenty of gaming ads targeting a certain demographic. One that makes me wince though is Majesco’s advertisements for its new “Go Play” series.
Go Play Circus Star and Go Play Lumberjack appear to be generic (and not that good) minigame collections. They might have been mildly interesting two years ago. But now they look dated and to be nothing more than cheap cash-ins. Even the TV commercials have been derivative (very reminiscent of Carnival Games). (Go Play City Sports might be a bit better – not good but better – but it is not out yet.)
These commercials are the first time I have felt bad over my console choice. So I guess my options are to sell my system or change the cartoons I watch. I think I will change the cartoons. But seriously, is it me or does this show a company without a clue?
