Forums - Gaming - I just might buy a 360 in the fall or early next year,

^ Until then... we've been having fun for quite some time now. =P

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

You'd be better off with a gaming PC, much more and better games, and there's Steam which beats Xbox Live in nearly every comparable way.

PC gaming is more fun if your a recluse and don't have too many friends, sure it has its moments (RTS's) but i would rather play on a 360 with my friends anyday then sitting in a uncomfortable chair all by myself playing pc games...

Plus you pretty much have to upgrade every year

Thats my 2 cents anyways...

And the PC is better...why? You can't play most of good exclusives NOW, you also can't play with your friends who don't have gaming PCs (which sounds like the case with the OP), and you can't have more than one person playing on the PC at a time.
@ OP Seriously, get a 360, get some decent games, get XBL, and get playin'!

Past Avatar picture!!!

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

See sig.

I personally recommend Halo 3, Left 4 Dead, BioShock to add to your list of shooters if thats your bag.

hehe... except RE5 and Gears 2 which he said he enjoyed are not on PC. Not yet anyways.

Also, he will spoend the money he is saving to buy an xbox on a videocard alone.

GPUs are cheaper than ever, you can build a gaming PC for only $400 that will crush PS3 and Xbox 360 visually. For less than $100 you can buy great high end GPUs nowadays. And it will be even cheaper for him if he intends to wait until fall or next year like he said.

You are downplaying the price and overhyping performance

I bought an ATI 4850 this holiday season for boxing day and it was 200 bucks. This was quite a decent price at the time.

I have an athlon X2 6400, 2 GB ram, 100 dollar mobo. All in all the system cost me ~500 to build and guess what...it doesn't "crush" the 360.

To play Crysis with a good frame rate it looks worse than games like Gears 2 and FarCry on 360. Other games like Left 4 Dead and Fear 2 look better on PC but not by much. I play both on the same 67 inch 1080p TV...

PC gaming is great, but it will never replace the simple, cheap and accessible gaming that consoles offer.
