As pointed out in my E3 2009 Wrap-Up Article, Brink was easily one of the sexiest games on the show floor. Not only did it show incredible promise by packing in a create-a-player system that looks to set new standards, but it was most noticeable in that it was the only game that appeared to be pushing new graphical boundaries other than Uncharted 2.
While a 360 controller being fed through a wall was in hand for our media demo, I couldn't help but take notice to graphical details - most notably how the game rendered its textures. As a PC gamer myself, it's not too difficult to spot a PC game versus a console one (as I speculated in my E3 Wrap Up article that it was more than likely the PC version of the game) and this game made it rather easy in that it was incredibly similar to the difference that Fallout 3 had in comparison to its console brethren when running on a very high end rig. While I can't confirm it, resolution also appeared to be rather high, but this is more conjecture than verifiable fact.
Alas, we couldn't just take a guess that it was the console version and decided to get the official response from Bethesda. Bethesda's response was short and sweet: "They were running it on PC."
Even so, with Brink looking as good as it did on PC, we have no doubt that this game will shine on consoles much in the same fashion that Fallout 3 did (perhaps even more so) - it just won't be to quite the same level of its PC counterpart if you're packing some serious gaming power, but this shouldn't come to anyone's surprise. We look forward to sharing some console images soon.
