Well, if they are going to make an MMO again is because FFIX made at least as much profit as a common FF isn't it? Or they want FFXIV to be a competitor to WOW?

FFXI was a pretty good competitor to WoW in its prime and even it "losing" to WoW is not such a bad thing. It did really well, had a really string community, and as far I know still has a decent community now.

Any MMO that has survived as long as FFXI has is a success.
