And I believe you posted that this addition is being handled by a C-rank team (other PS3 fanboys seem to believe this gospel as well)? So, you must doubt Kojima's judgement. You believe Kojima will allow a C-rank team in his ranks? You believe Kojima would haphazardly release the Metal Gear franchise to the hands of a C-rank team?

Kojima is 1) the producer and 2) has stated that he intends to push this game graphically beyond MGS 4. But it seems you are using all of the little resources you have to discredit this addition. Even if you have not stated it directly, it is implied in your posts. And you're not very subtle.

A spin off is something that branches from something else thats already in place. In this case it's a story (A spin off can be many things) The Metal Gear series was following the story of SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MGS3 was the story of who snake was cloned from. MGS2 was the story of Snakes clone rising to power. See all these snakes here?

lol are you seriously arguing that even a game that has one of the main protaganist as its main character and contains a story that is considered cannon by the developers its a spin off? You seriously need to stop arguing and think very hard about what you are saying because I think you are very confused.
Wasn't your entire previous argument that MGS:R wasn't part of the main series because it didn't have Solid Snake? At least take a side and stick with it, all this flip flopping isn't doing you any good.

So which is it? Is a game part of a series if it has the main character or if it continues some strict story line that only encompasses a small part of the story bible? (a very laughably ignorant definition to say the least)

The truth is if it doesn't follow the story its a spin off. The story that is in place now is Snakes. The Universe is the war ridden world of people trying to gain power through Metal Gear.

Producer means shit. They do the pre-production shit. Now him being more hands on means something but he also has MGSPW which he is producing AND directing AND Casltevania which he is producing.

no it wasnt. you said same universe but folliwn different cahracters. mgs3 has no solid snake. no otacon. no raiden. the main characters from the metal gear solid games. metal gear solid 3 had nothing to do with solid snake. neither did portable ops. metal gear 1 and 2 are the prequels to metal gear solid, not snake eater.

I never said it wasn't a Main story because it didn't have snake in it. I said people like Snake as a Main Character. I said numerous times through out this thread in order for it to be a main story it needs to follow the same story so I never even really called it a spin off. I also said whats the big deal if it is a spin off. It doesnt mean its bad. But you guys cant handle that.

The whole series is about the walking tanks. They aren't a universe either, just the main plot point of EVERY Metal Gear game. Kojima has already established Raiden as a character that CAN headline a real Metal Gear Solid game, so him being the main character should not necessarily be a deterrent in the matter. Really there's no piece of evidence present that suggests this will be anything but a continuation or fleshing out of the current storyline.

Let me ask you, what other games do you consider spin offs that hold the same similarities this game may potentially hold to the source material?

2) How do you know what it follows? Do you work on the development team? Because a team is only as strong as its weakest link, and that wouldn't speak very highly of said team.

3) You should also be smart enough to know that C-rank implies inferior to A. Which would be you discrediting the addition to the franchise which you claim you are not doing. LOL You can just as easily say another team is working on the franchise. You do not have to classify ranks.  Has Kojima stated a C-rank team is handling the franchise? No, you fabricated this to support your agenda.

4) Do yourself and PS3 supporters a favor and quit this silly ruse.
