Forums - Gaming - Square Enix: 'No chance' 360 will compromise PS3 FFXIII.

The X360 version of FFXIII is only 2 months old. It can't possibly have any effect on the PS3 version.

The english voice is horrible in japanese video-games. For me every line sounds like a horrible HORRIBLE hollywood-clichè. It makes the game more unreal and doll-like.

What people are not getting is that those that want japanese voice overs in western countries are in the minority of buyers of the FF franchise. If FF was a cult game I'd understand, but really for those of you that claim the voice acting in japanese is superb cuz "it has emotion" of cuz of their "long years of experience" well to the rest of us it isn't. For me it is a distraction, and all I hear is a lot of a screaming going on.

I don't mind subtitles, but really for me language is not an issue, I rather get it in english though since that's the most popular language and most commonly used. Yea sure, maybe some voice acting is bad, however, you must also look into how many JRPGs phrase the storyline. They try to translate their comedy and fit it with western language and let's be honest, a lot of their comedy is pretty cheesy.

What are you looking at, nerd?

A matter of taste, BUT a matter of voice-quality aswell. And I pity those who don`t care for high quality in every aspect.

I better get that JPN audio for the PS3 version then SE!

Yeah but when adding Japanese audio track to PS3 version would be practically free and it could lead to some extra sales why should not SE do it ?

Seems obvious to me that many people would like to have the original JAP audio with English subtitles. It's not like they need to remove the English dubs. It's just an addition that would please several of us and I definitely think they have enough space on the Blu-ray to do it.

Boved! Just get the game done!

I dont care if its 10 discs ill install them onto my hard drive!

Untill then ill be loveing the infinatly better looking real time graphics of mass effect!

I can understand Japanese so having the Japanese audio track would be nice, but I will not be surprised if it is not included. One of the things I do like to do is compare the translation and see how they decided to translate out everything. Since everything spoken in Japanese will not always work well directly translated to english, I like to see how they decided to localize certain lines.

I also like to see what they changed, for example in FFX at the very end in the Japanese version Yuna tells Tidus "Thank you", but in the US version, she tells him she loves him. IMO that is a big difference in meaning there, so I always like to see what got changed.

I would like a JPN voice track. Hell, I didn't take Japanese for 2 years in college for no reason....
