Use iTunes to uncheck them.. or Navigate to your iPhone home screen. Select the application that you want to remove, tap and hold it until you see your screen wobble. At the same time, you’ll see a small x, click on it and it will pop-up a screen where you can choose delete to remove the un-wanted application. Press home button to make the “x” sign disappear and you’re done.

and no.. i won't recommend any apps... there are just too many of them.. just look for what you need..

Since you got your question answered, I'll just list a few apps I have and use the most:

  • THe Weather Channel (free) -- displays local weather, alerts, and everything else.  It's much better than the weather app that comes with your iPhone.
  • Clock (default) -- You already have this but make sure to use!  You can set alarms to go off certain days and it's just handy.
  • Notes (default) -- Again, you have this but very useful.
  • Lose It! (free) -- Simple little app that keeps track of food you've eaten, excersices, and your daily calorie budget.  It doesn't actually do anything other than make you aware of what you intake per day but I've lost about 20 pounds since using it.
  • Facebook (free) -- Very nice Facebook app.  If you have a Facebook account and an iPhone there's no reason not to have it.
  • reMoven (paid) -- incedibly simple game but incredibly fun.  I believe there's a free demo.
  • Wolfenstein 3D (paid) -- I was skeptical but it's actually really well done.  It has a fair amount of customization in the controls and just feels pretty good.  There can  be trouble when an enemy sneaks up behind you but still fun game.
  • WordFu (paid) -- Simple word game that's pretty addictive and fun
  • UrbanSpoon (free) -- very nice if you want to be adventurous and try new resteraunts.
  • FlightTrack (paid) -- track flights and have detailed flight information handy including boaring gate and time, bagge claim, and the status of the flight and where it's at.  Very nice app and very worth the money.
  • CarFinder (free) -- Ever lose your car in the parking lot?  Not anymore!  When you park your car, just open this up and it marks your location.  When you want to return to you car just open it back up and it uses Google Maps to point you back to your car.  I've also used this in Trader's Village just to find my way out of the place.

If you like puzzle games, Subway is great. My favorite game however, is FlightControl.

Both game have free demos.

Some of the apps I have are eBay, ign, and myspace. They are easy to use.
