Wow 360 numbers are amazing compared to the PS3. Looks like Sony's last strong hold is not so strong any more.

I'm confused. Are there only 2 console makers out there? Japan hasn't been Sony's stronghold since like...2005 or so.

I am talking about HD consoles and the battle for second place. SONY vs MS. In the beginning with the PS2. SONY had dominance in every region. Then when the PS3 released they lost NA. Now they are losing Europe, lost Others and not even dominating Japan

Yeah, it's not dominating at all,  it only has more than 3 times the install base

the xbox360 is still the number 1 american owned console in japan!

Pretty meh sales across the board.
Japan has the most boring sales of all the regions.

The home consoles are fighting for crumbs in Japan, end of. Wii will get back up there with the games releasing and PS3 will do well with the software releasing along with a price cut.

This is about as good as 360 will ever go in Japan, PS3 and especially Wii have so much more to go in Japan. Buy yeah fighting for crumbs.

Well if you're talking about the joke that is "second place in Japan," you should have specified that instead of just leaving me or other people to guess. But you still completely missed the point. Japan isn't Sony's stronghold anyways. For that matter, you could have called America the Xbox's stronghold last generation just because it was beating the Gamecube there (and same with Europe). It's pretty lame to say that Sony isn't dominating Microsoft in Japan because of one week. If we're completely ignoring Nintendo (which is a foolish thing to do anyways), Sony sold 38,000 consoles in Japan this week, and Microsoft sold 6,000. Sony is still dominating Microsoft completely. And even if we're only counting the HD consoles, the PS3 still has a 3:1 advantage over the 360 in Japan in total userbase size.

So, wait. Because Sony is dominating Microsoft in Japan less than last generation, that means they're not dominating them still?
