The only thing I didn't like about characters like Liara and Ashley is that they droned on and on. Even if you only wanted them for sex, they had to tell you their entire life story. I'd rather be a sexless space marine recalling cool war stories with Wrex than any of the sex-filled alternatives.

When I was trying to romance Ashley (I just wanted the achievement), she wouldn't stop saying "HEY SKIPPER!" I kept on wishing there was a really drastic renegade action for those moments.

The consort didn't tell you her life story. You just to run to Chora's den and straighten out Septimus. You a got item for an off world sidequest AND some indigo alien loving

The Consort was easy, but Ashley was much more worth it to me. I don't find Asari's attractive. The attitude of the Consort was just to tell men what they want to hear and give them sex. With Ashley, you really had to break her down and thats always cool.

I'm a little worried for your future relationships.

Why? (LOL) Because I don't like whores?

No... Although I know you didn't mean it like this, but I read it as you like breaking down their will and confidence until they submit to your own desires

On another note, I just started the game a couple of days ago. I'm about 5 hours in and just became a Specter. I chose to go to the cold planet, I believe it starts an 'N'.

I'm really enjoying it so far, and may very well join this hype train if it continues to get better. My only complaints so far are: Not being able to skip conversations (I accidently repeated a few); very little gameplay so far; and a few technical glitches ranging from minor things like slow down and weird shadowing to the fairly annoying, like getting stuck in certain places and having to reload to become free again.

Despite all of that, the positives are greatly outweighing the negatives. I'm hopeful that divide will only widen as the game progresses.

Your experience sounds a lot like most of ours. It will only get better with time. The positives really do outweigh the negatives, which are mainly just technical issues. As for your conversation skipping question, I wouldn't recommend skipping conversations. You use the "X" button to do so though. If you skip through a persons message before your response, sometimes it can default your response. There are very special moments in this game that I do not want you to miss, so just be patient with the conversations.

As for the "breaking of confidence" in the female companions aspect of your conversation, its not really that. It's about getting to know them, and as they get to know you, they will either love you or respect you. You can turn that tide by the way that you treat them. The only person that truly submits to you just because you save her is Liara.

No, no. I thought as much. It was just a funny choice of words

I'm afraid to read the blacked-out part. Is it a spoiler?

Yeap. It is one of the spoilers for the 'Paramore' storyline. It makes sense out of what I am saying tough.

Wait so if I want to get with Ashley do I have to be a total dick to her or do I have to sympathize with her? Also some of you guys said you can get with the consort? Do you mean Liara or another Asari?

lol and STAGE I duno what your talking about but I think that Asari are hot. Their basically blue woman that seem to be overtly sexual, whats no to like :P

If you want Ashley, just flirt with her after big missions on the ship. You can be nice to Liara as well, but at some point you'll have to turn her down. As for the consort, shes on the Citadel in the Consorts Chambers. Shes the woman who you help to get General Septimus off of her back. She repays you very well.

Asaris have tentacles coming out of the back of their heads. I prefer human women. Ashley looks like Jessica Alba. Plus 10 pts hotness!!! Thats the great thing about this game; all of the choice. The next game will be even better.

Yeah Stage the reason it worried me is it sounded like you meant break their spirit.

For those of you having technical issues I experienced none of these, but that's cause I played the PC version ftw.

In Mass Effect, I don't have time for all these pseudo-romances, and I am glad the game didn't have to have me go through that. I do like Tali though. She has this cool "geek" factor about her. Anyhow, I hope Mass Effect 2 has an ability to play it like Elite, where you can run cargo and set up shops that generate revenue.

The Asari are wonderful blue Godesses!  Everytime I see one I think of Zhaan from farscape, I always wanted to bang her!

I'd say the sex scenes detracted from the game.  I mean, when I let Kaiden die on my first playthrough, I grieved by doing a jig and singing "I'm gonna get some booty!"  On my subsequent playthroughs, I didn't even bother with the romanceable crewmembers.

On the other hand, Tali and Shep kinda had a BFF thing going on, which could have conceivably blossomed into an honest romance.  Really, a Tali romance would have felt so much more deep and meaningful to me.  Just imagine, Tali and Shepard in each others arms; never able to consumate their relationship, but simply content in the presence of one another.

The thought of it makes me want to baw my eyes out.

You're a spectre on a suicide mission...not a Warehouse manager. LOL!

How do you make love to a woman who cannot breathe in your atmosphere? She wont even take off her suit for christ sake! (LOL) If we hear more on Tali's story, I'd love to find out whats up with her. Shes too much of a droid and robot-like for a romance though.
