I joined just to add something that everyone else thus far seems to have forgotten. The beta for Halo Reach. For any hardcore Halo fan this is a big plus not to mention what it could do for the sales of ODST. Remember Halo 3 and Crackdown?
I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.
I would have loved to pay just a reduced price for it. But whatever, it really doesn't matter to me because there's no way I'm not going to buy this game.

Welcome!
Don't know enough about Reach yet to get hyped. I love the teaser trailer, though. Didn't do much for me during the press conference, but watching it on XBL was pretty cool. And I love the teaser picture.

Seems epic. But more info is needed about the game for people to get hyped about a multiplayer beta.

This right here. Coming with all of the MP maps is a pretty big deal because I still don't have mythic, or even legendary.

Originally I would have said if the Halo: Recon details was for $60, then no deal.
Now however, from recent reports we are getting the following:
Full length campaign of 10+ hours (also depends on difficulty and cutscenes)
New weapons and characters
3 new mp maps + ALL the old maps from Halo 3
New Firefight mode (hoard style)
Free Halo: Reach multiplayer beta entry
That seems to warrant a full price tag to me. It actually appears to be more of a full title rather than an expansion. I'm surprised they didn't drop the 3 and just call it Halo: ODST but I guess the multiplayer tie-in is probably why.
I heard the campain for Halo 3: ODST is like 2-4hrs max is that true?

I appreciate the welcome.
I'm sure that there are many people that share your viewpoint but I'm thinking that to the Halo fan, it won't matter much. When you put a new Halo game and multiplayer together there will be a lot of people that will be hyped about that. I think that the current Halo 3 online situation is evidence enough to support what I'm saying. I mean granted it's not Halo 4 but even a fraction of Halo 3's online popularity would be a success IMO.
Oh and I will happily shell out the $60 for ODST.

Good thing I haven't bought either the heroic and mythic map packs yet
