I thought that would have been a real nice twist and had given the game a much better value and longevity. It seems Nintendo just updated the graphics for the boxers, improved the boxer's A.I. and moves and though that was enough. It wasn't. Even the head-to-head Little Mac multiplayer isn't anything special. Nintendo really blew it with this game. |
Did you do Title Defense or the exhibition challenges? Because I haven't touched the multiplayer yet and those two modes have kept me pretty busy already.

It is really funny but in the last week or so, I have started seeing Punch Out ads on ESPN (I was going to explain what that was, but unless you live in Canada, you have access to an ESPN channel -- and there TSN would be ESPN Canada if not for the CRTC).

The ads I've seen run during PTI.
I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

And some people expected MadWorld to sell 1m+ opening. I've seen Conduit predictions as high as 2.5m opening week. I've met people who honestly expected Obama to win Texas and Mississipi or McCain to win California + New York. I heard people predict PAT BUCHANAN and/or RALPH NADER actually winning in 2000. Here in Canada, every election I see wide-eyed NDP and Green Party supporters honestly predicting they will win government. One guy I met, actually thought the MARIJUANA PARTY would win a few seats.
This may seem like irrelevant rambling, but the point is, some people who have "drank the Kool-Aid" and believe their own hype become basically cheerleaders for something, and develop grossly unrealistic expectations. There's always going to be "that guy" that predicts random niche title #32 to bust out of the gates selling 4.5m units in the first week, because he's THAT excited for the game, and expects everyone else will be as well.
Not a bad thing to be that excited for a game (or politician), but it is setting oneself up for a massive disappointment.
