no need to shut down Turn10

Eurogamer does it for you :

Microsoft has three tracks on show, all originals, all set in a vertiginous, rocky and green alpine setting. A road circuit, a test circuit and a Formula One-style track, they are relatively fast and sweeping with some interesting bumps and camber changes - and pretty, too: lush, crisp, colourful and brightly lit, just like the cars, which sport full damage-modelling (cosmetic, simulation or intermediate) and can even roll. Forza 3 looks a little less clinical that its predecessor - but still quite clinical, and despite Turn 10's confidence that it has the best-looking racing game in the world on its hands, it can't quite match GT5 Prologue's near-photorealism, GRID's bustling track drama or Need For Speed Shift's thrilling in-car view.

if u add

8 cars vs 16 cars, it is even worse for Turn10

oh, i forgot to mention the cockpit view is 30fps only ...

Time to Work !

Japan = $300 PS3 + FFXIII
Europe = $300 PS3 + GT5
America = $300 PS3 + Uncharted 2

If this happen PS3 will doubled X360 during holidays.

@NSS7

not happening (the bit in the last sentence)

I see several reasons why...

1) The game might not release in NA in 09, but in EU or/and JPN, so announcing it at the E3 would be quite frankly a slap in the face.although it could release in Japan before the west I don't really see why ?? the game doesn't have tons of text or dialog to be localized just menus even so most of the stuff are already covered in Prologue

2) Perhaps they try to make it a 09 title, but still aren't certain they manage to, so they rather announce it at a later event, when they see clearer whether or not they can/will pull it off.probably the most logical reason, but Yamauchi said it's ready for release any time the thing is you have to draw the line and say enough is enough and stop adding features and release the game

3) As NA isn't GTs biggest region they might think it has a bigger impact if announced at one of the other big conventions that take place in other regions.Well GT5 was announced ages ago so we know it's coming all we want is a release date and it wouldn't matter whether it's in a US, EU or JP event because everybody will know about it

4) The E3 is very crowded with big announcements, so they might fear it could be "overlooked" (no GT certainly never will be overlooked, but it might end up not being THE main topic of the show), but at the other events they are very certain to "steal the show" with that announcement.You got people talk about Modnation Racers, MAG and Brutal Legend you don't think GT5 will get some buzz :p

may I add one thing and that is I think the NASCAR license could be one of the reasons also they don't want to get in trouble with EA although I would be pissed If that's true delaying one of the biggest Racer games for a sport that the hardest maneuver is turn left !!!!

at this point there is a lot of speculation and mystery around GT5 and you could come up with 10 theories about what will happen and when it's gonna come so the best thing to do is wait and don't get your hopes up for a 09 release

I think the NASCAR license is one of the issues for 09 release.

Is there any source for the exact expiration date of the EA/NASCAR contract?

Everywhere said 2009 but could it be like mid-late 2009 instead of exactly 12/31/2009?

Do you know when they recieved Exclusive deal? Or when the first EA nascar game came out? Because it would make the most sense for it to be a yearly thing. So look for when EA got the license and that is probablly around the same time of '09 it expires.

according to this source
http://sports.espn.go.com/videogames/news/story?id=3934804

The EA license expires after this year 2009 so if that's it I hope sony release the game with no NASCAR (does anybody care really ??) and make it as a free DLC the first day in January 2010 or whatever or put on the disk but lock it like Capcom with RE5 and then release a small patch that unlocks it so people don't have to download a big DLC that is if they even care about NASCAR like I said

Is the license exlcusive though? All GT5 will have is a couple tracks and cars, not the whole shabazz.

yeah it's exclusive just like Madden so unless Sony makes some sorta of a deal with EA they will either delay the game and release it as a whole after the NASCAR license clears out or release the game this year with no NASCAR
